idk about that more wanting to lick my gums and whatnot afterwards
May depend on the pheno aka ācutā too
I plead the fifth
My Yeti OG cut that I used as the mother in the Yeti OG x Tropicanna Cookies always smelled of peanut butter and pickles in veg, but just smelled like ridiculously dank headband in flower. Kind of odd, but I always seek cultivars with unique aspects. Positive vibesā¦

Keep an eye (nose) out for anything that smells like sausage or Thanksgiving stuffing (sage). A little piney and lemon undertones as well. At least thats what Iām after if memory serves me correct from 15 yrs ago and the TW cut I had at one point.
Will do! A couple of them I really canāt pin down so I am going to let them develop before I even try.
I am hoping for a TW leaner really, but unsure how much of a possibility it is. Not sure what exactly TW looks like but these all have a very similar look that I am guessing is coming from the Kashmiri.
Cheers
Hmm now you make me want to go give my 2 Yeti F3 that I have in flower with these other plants a stem rub. I heavily regret not still having the clone I kept from the other Yeti F3 seeds I sprouted. I am not sure what exactly the loompa headband or underdog is like, but the FLAVOR from that plant was some of the most phenomenal tasting bud that just coated the mouth.
I donāt remember either of these 2 females being very loud or having a ton of smell in veg, although the crystals they are starting to put out def are getting some dankey smells.
So new to making seeds here, usually just toss the males, do you have to keep males under 24 hour light for them to not start to make sacks and pollinate anything they come in contact with? I had a heaven mountain male that I was wanting to keep and make F2s of the strain with the one female I ended up with but it started putting out a few sacks and actually dropped some pollen so I had to can it before it seeded me up.
It was under at least 18 hours of light
Anyone ever try these OMG#4 or have any info?
Hey buddy ! In my experience, most of the males Ive grown dont flower under 24 hours or even 18. Preflowers are one thing, but a fully flowering male under a veg light cycle should probably not be used, unless you are trying to breed autoās.
However, usually once a male starts to flower the 12/12 hour light period is no longer required. I have initiated flowering of males in the same tent as my females, then pulled the males after they started to flower. I put them in my living room for a couple of weeks as they continued to flower, then cut them down and put in vases in a closed bathroom to collect the pollen. I placed parchment paper below the vases, after a few days I had a decent amount of pollen, which I stored in the freezer for quite a while before successfully pollinating a batch of ladies
Thanks @mtntrogger didnāt think about that.
may have to use that technique for the next boys!!
Glad to help @nefrella. Just watch them close so you pull them in time. Its pretty easy, and safe if your females were flipped at the same time. The males always flower faster so even if you had a rogue sac or 2 open early there really isnt enough pistillate matter on the girls yet to mess up your sensi crop. Thats why when Im trying to make seeds, I flip the girls a couple of weeks before the dudes. That way they have enough flowers to make a decent amount of beans.
How do you identify the male pre-flowers? Im really struggling to see that.
Some of my clones the white wispey hairs are obvious, the boys, not so much.
If it dont have the hairs I usually suspect its a male. The male preflowers are almost always on a little stalk. They extend a tiny bit away from same ācrotchā internode area that the females from in. Basically they look like a hairless female flower that extends out a bit. Female preflowers dont have the little stem thingy. Hope that helps
copy, totally makes sense.
So, no white wispy hairs = typically a boy, or a really slow girl.
I havenāt looked under a scope to see if I have the little pre-flowers extending away from the crotch, will take a look tonight under the microscope.
Exactly ! You shoudnt need a scope to identify though. They will show when the time is right. If you rush to judgement you could definitely make a mistake. They (boys) wont skeet before you figure it out
Hey man thanks for chiming in. I wouldnāt say it was fully flowering, but compared to the other two males (one tigers milk and one sunshine 4 f2) that were still just showing me that they were male, this one had actually produced a pollen sac and dumped a little load. A bit bummed that I kind of freaked out and immediately got rid of the plant because I should have taken a paint brush and at least maybe pollinated a lower on the female heaven mountainā¦ ah well
Good thought on moving the male to another space completely away from any females. I accidentally seeded my entire Elf Snack x Sunshine 4 on my last go around because I had a vent aiming into the tent like a dumbbbberrrse and somehow screwed my timer up and basically pumped pollen into the tent lmfao.
Looking heat broski
Interesting about flipping the females early. This Silver Mountain preservation run that I am doing but havenāt yet made a post for is coming along pretty nicely, but I did just toss the female and male in there together and let her rip. I left the male in there for quite a while so that it could continue to pollinate for at least a week after it was shooting its load everywhere uncontrollably.
What I am noticing as I have been starting to inspect the buds is that the calyxes at the very bottom of every bud has a fully dark, finished looking seed that is pretty much disconnected and getting ready to fall.
When I pull the buds back, the calyxes in the interior of the buds seem to MOSTLY have finished seed in them although I do run into light colored seeds here and there. I have probably pulled out close to 100 viable looking seeds so far, just checking things out here and there.
On the outside of the buds, the calyxes are full of seeds but most of them are smaller and light / green color and already popping out of the calyx. Not really sure if they are going to finish as I only have a plan to let the plant go for one more week.
I am so stoked to pull down my first ever seeded plant.
Itās all I can do to just litfa hahahahaha.
Haha I feel you !! To have pulled out 100 viable seeds already is getting me excited. I was a little afraid at first because I felt like for some reason the female was a bit small and just didnāt flower out big and make flowers as big as usual and hence was thinking it wasnāt going to have that many seedsā¦ I think I may be wrong!
Excited to be able to share these with the OG community and continue to help with preservation and spreading the love around.
