Bodhi Seeds - Goji OG Crowd Source F2 Preservation (closed)

I was hoping to do it around the time that this project is done. I’m putting in a order for a greenhouse kit this week and I’ve been prepping the ground. However, I did recently plant 5x seed packs, mostly Crockett’s but I did a Sun RA of Bodhi’s also.

Impossible to teach anyone new ideas when they think they know it all already. Part of my garden is organic soil I got from BaS (their 3.0 mix) I just finished up a run and am in the process of getting the soil tested through BaS using Logan Labs. I also got a consultation through BaS with Bryant Mason to review the results and get recommendations on re amending. I think testing is a great way to understand where you are at with your soil and provide some data to make some better informed decision. Not sure why anyone would have argued with you for doing it. Did the results of the soil tests help get your soil to a point it was providing you the results you were expecting?

So jealous! I’ve been eyeing several spots on my property to clean and put up a little greenhouse. Keeping a sharp eye on local Craigslist for anyone trying to unload one. Stars haven’t aligned yet though

SSDD had a weird outcome for me. I’ve probably grown out 3 packs of it and the strain is the biggest hit or miss for me moreso then any other strain of Bodhi’s. What I mean by that is that the keepers you will find are awesome, but the non-keepers are pretty underwhelming. Usually with an 11 pack of Bodhi’s you might find 1-2 worth keeping 5-6 that are just decent smoke and 2-3 that aren’t good at all. But with SSDD it seemed to me that it was mostly either the plants were keeper quality or were not good at all lol, nothing in between. A fun line to pheno hunt though for sure because the keepers are worth the hassle.

Big time, it helped me feel confident enough to go commercial. My most recent test showed that I was low in P, which it’s always at toxic levels, so I never would have known to add it. I don’t have any P inputs to be honest because my compost usually has so much of it that keeping iron in check is the problem. However, I have been recycling this soil for 2yrs now and it’s time to add P and K lol… I’ll have some special soil ready by the time that my greenhouse is ready. I have a place that I can get expired produce from and this round I have a lot of apples and strawberries. This is an old pic, but it’ll give you an idea.

I ran a pack and got 8 males, the 3 females had 1 runt and 2x average non-keepers. I’m hoping that the next pack will be 8 females lol…

:joy: The most I’ve grown at once is 4 so I’ve got some adjustments to make here but it’s going to be fun as hell!

Yep lol, its going to be a crazy ride but I am hoping to hang on for dear life lol. I am actually going to setup an isolated space that will be for just seed making. I need to have a system that is as simple to operate as possible so I can keep up. Going to go with ebb and flow using coco as the media and Jacks 321 for the nutes. I already had the flood and drain tables that were not in use and ebb and flow as a technique is pretty low maintenance. Hoping simplicity keeps the plants alive lol. Usually with coco they say to do top feeding with drain to waste but I have seen several folks like VaderOG and Dwago the Hut doing flood and drain with coco with amazing results, although they use Canna nutrients with the Canna coco where I am using Jacks with the Canna coco. Hopefully won’t run into too many issues.

im trying to swap over to flood tables also but I can’t decide what i want to do lol

DTW coco sounds appealing but im really leaning towards a setup like this and just doing a sog of clones

Just so you know, you can send your soil directly to Logan Labs and skip BAS. It’s much cheaper and that way you don’t have to get stuff shipped to you, then ship it all over the country etc etc. Here’s their website: https://loganlabs.com/

They were super-helpful the one time I sent some soil samples in, like three years ago.

Edit: Oops just checked my receipt and I was wrong. Directly from Logan Labs does look to be cheaper

At the time, the package of tests I bought were actually cheaper through BaS than it was getting them through Logan Labs directly. I just took a look and BaS are no longer offering the test package or the consultation packages lol. Guessing they got swamped pretty hard and had to pause it.
