Bodhi Seeds - Goji OG Crowd Source F2 Preservation (closed)

wow 9 women in normal conditions would be ideal but for genetic diversity not so much.

I don’t know the distance between you two but maybe a good idea would be for you to talk to @G-paS and exchange some cuts since she had an accident and ended up with 4 males I think this would help both parties

:om: :prayer_beads:

edit: g-pas is a girl sorry for the mistake😅

Awesome story that the lone male ended up being the seed that almost didn’t make it. Ultimo Hombre - Last Man Standing lol

9 females! Holy sheeet you are going to have a fun selection process. I hope every single one of them is fire for you!

Nah man, it’s cool. I have a recipe and can order if necessary but I’m going to try and stay away from the route for now I think. If anything changes though I’ll hit you up.

Haha ya man, we’ll see! Looks like I have some good variation so far so I can’t wait to see them flower out.

This plant really wanted to push out 11 finger leaves lol

Woah that’s nuts! Almost didn’t see it at first. I’ll keep an eye out for that in my pool.

How far along are your ladies. I flipped the boys and couple days ago. I had everything ready last week than I had to replace a zipper. Everything is plugging along.

They are on day 10 of flowering. So a bit ahead of you… Im not sure if this is going to work out but I’ll sit by patiently to see who gets some pollen. I imagine that we’ll have time. Keep me posted on your pollen situation!

I should have lots with 4 healthy boys. The 5th boy should be ready for the clones.

I just gave them there final trim and spaced them out a bit. Going to flip them to flower tonight. I think I have 4-5 males. Should be lots of pollen to go around

I have another flowering room adjacent to the right side wall where that intake fan is. The plan is to turn that into an exhaust fan and keep the females in this room. The adjacent room has a window in it I will use that to exhaust that room outside. The males will go in the adjacent room that is exhausting outside until they are all dumping pollen and I’ll attempt to collect it all and do a even pollination on the females.

Wow @NorthNorthNugs those plants are looking unreal healthy man. Did you keep cuts off everything? If I were you I’d isolate the male and selectively pollinate a couple
Branches on each plant, just to have some seeds from the deal, then maybe you can link with @G-paS and get a mix of her boys pollen and hit some clones up to get a proper open pollination. Just a thought, still can’t get over how healthy everything is looking

Actually, that’s a solid plan bruh! Thanks for your input. I have all the clones pretty much rooted so far so maybe I’ll do another run after I collect some pollen!

I have a little advice for everyone running the goji. I’ve been growing a lot of goji hybrids, and the buds are insanely dense on the goji dom phenos. the buds are so dense that they do not dry effectively if you do the traditional hang dry method with the plant intact. it is susceptible to mold in my rainy climate, even when I had fans blowing on them directly.

I lost two beautiful frosty goji dominant phenos to mold during the drying process.

anyone who lives in a rainy, humid, or northern climate should probably do a wet trim immediately after chopping, and break up large colas into smaller buds so that it will dry safely and evenly.

in a way, this is a good sign. this was always a problem with the bay area / northern california og kush lines that were popular in the old CA medical system and the black market before cookies took over. anything larger than a golfball bud needed to get cut up into smaller pieces. That’s why if you bought a zip of top quality northern california kush in the 00s, it was usually very small buds. it was because they had to trim it like that in order for it to dry properly. (and because people kept the big colas for head-stash)

the nepali og that bodhi used in the goji was from grass valley. I used to get ‘grass valley OG’ or ‘truckee’ from one of my guys. it was always chopped up into small buds like that.

this probably wouldn’t be a problem in dry arid climates, but if you live in a climate like northern california or oregon, keep this in mind and trim it up into small nugs.

Legit advice and a cool piece of history!
I literally live in a desert, so I have to humidify my drying space, or they would completely dry out in the first couple of days (which many dispensaries here allow to happen, so terpene profiles of that 'mersh are non-existent).

@PNWStrainhunter This is the thread.

Question for others. what level do you need to be to post in this area?

As I understand it, anybody can post, but you must be TL2 or higher in order to participate in the Seeds Run Coop

Awesome write up and great history lesson. Thanks for the tip!!

the seed runs co-op category is intended for seed runs done accordingly to the co-op rules. that includes seed run grow journals, co-op distribution sign ups, and we have master threads for co-op rules and logistics discussions.

anybody can post in the threads here, all are welcome. You must be trust level 2 or higher to sign up and receive seeds from the co-op giveaways.
