Yup ran into 2 hours of no power yesterday from the snow storm. Didn’t see anything off on the ladies this morning though. Did some trimming up of their lowers as well, all looking good here at 2 weeks. Males dropping pollen and I’m sneezing away!
I’ve always wondered if anyone has a good solution to power outages messing up timers. Guess just writing down exactly when they go off when you set them?
Ugh… still no power. I’m getting nervous man
@nube - Detailed pics as requested
These pics are from N8. You can see the pollen sack growing where I cut off some leaves during my lower third clean up. This was the first pollen sack I found.
This cluster was the next thing I found a little further up the plant, hidden under some fan leaves from an adjacent plant.
Here are some examples of the sacks from shoots on the lower part of the plant. You can clearly see flowers forming, female pistils and then straight up male parts.
Here are individual pics of each plant:
Here is a top shot of each plant:

ECU (Extreme Close Up… wooo woo wooo party time! excellent! woo woo wooo) … Sorry, I used to love Wayne’s World:
Hope this helps everyone.
Way to persevere @NorthNorthNugs ! $hit happens
Used to? Wayne and Garth are forever! Ha! Schaaawing!
How many days into bloom did you notice the pollen sacks? And anyone else who wants to chime in with their experience on the time frame as well. I am really curious about when it happened.
I noticed them on F26 but realistically they were probably starting to appear around F24 or so.
I’ll get some detailed pics up of my babies when I transplant them into their final containers, which will hopefully be soon. I have to admit I think that I could probably flower these out in their solo cups lol as they are looking very healthy. They are headed into 2 gallon pots for their final resting place. I did take some time tonight to take a jewelers loop and look for pre flowers on my 22 plants. Didn’t see any definitive female pistils or male balls formed yet so I guess we will need a bit more time. Or maybe all 22 are female hahahah. What a crazy problem that would end up being right?
Man I’d like your luck if that was the case.
Or maybe not.
I usually end up with all males. Haha
I know right?!?! Any other time if you popped two packs of beans you would be ecstatic for all females to pick a keeper from. That is of course, unless you are trying to make F2 beans lol. I’m sure the reality is that I just need a few more days before the pre-flowers so but it is fun to day dream about that many Goji OG females to choose from.
If they are I got pollen How long do you let your pollen dry out before putting into the air tight container with the dehumid?
@antheis I got the cutting of the girls today. I recut and placed them in R/O. Than I scraped the first inch, put in clonex, trimmed leaves and into cloner. I wasn’t sure what to trim to get the best results. I need these ladies to make it.
I have only collect pollen once before and it was an epic fail lol. From the research I have done since then it seems that 1-2 weeks drying time after collection is a good timeframe to dry out the pollen for storage. I suppose that timeframe greatly depends on your environment. Its winter here and heat running so living space humidity is low so I expect drying times to be faster.
I can assure you moisture is the enemy here. I failed at my last pollen collection attempt because I didn’t get all the plant matter out as well as needed before I put it in a container to dry.
Darn I sent out two packs today. I hope it will be good.
I’m sure you’ll be fine. I am a stoner so there is a good chance its 1-2 days and not 1-2 weeks lol. memory ain’t what it used to be =)
dude I’m not 100 percent this is a genetic issue. others should be having issues if it was and goji is an old strain. good new is this can be salvaged bad news their is an unknown here. Is a reveg out of the question at this point? Any stray lights like a dehumidifier or something that isn’t on all the time so you didn’t see it? cold shock or new nitrogen source? idk I am sorry it happened to you I know it can be a gut punch
glad they didn’t freeze.
although it looks like they could have used more water. and I probably shouldn’t have sent them in a padded envelope.
I had three of my goji show male initially, and then start throwing pistils. First one was noticed at 12 days from flip, other two were noticed at 18 days from flip (based on their development, guessing that they actually started closer to day 14/15 though)
All three pistillate males have been removed, leaving me w three solid males and four solid girls.
Love is in the air. Had to break out some stakes for these tall males, they were falling over and leaving clouds of pollen in my face ha.
There’s tons of herm reports on the goji og’s all over the net, you just gotta search for it. NorthNorthNugs has grown plenty in the same environment that never hermed, I’m positive it’s the genetics.
