just found some nuts on A2.
these seem a bit more definitive that the ones I found on A1. it is day 10 of flower.

I don’t really want to cull this one and am inclined to pinch them off and keep it moving.

My take is that in day 10 of bloom it’s genetic natural herm. I’d love to see it progress as long as you dare, to see if more sacks grow!

Little bit of a interesting find with this clone of e10.

It started forming and dropping pollen under 24/7 light.

Ive read males flowering under 24/7 light happens sometimes but I’m not sure i’d consider it a good trait or not.

Yep, I saw that with some extra clones I had to take a week after flip. Went into bloom under pretty much the same conditions. I guess once those hormones kick into gear it’s really hard for them to stop.

I did too with my CF. I took the clones about 1 week into flower and they flowered

If you take clones early in flower… they are on a ‘hair trigger’…

@Neb
i probably asked you in another thread, but what do you think of those Growers Choice LEDs? Do you run them at 100 percent?

9 Likes

I like them and I think 75% does the trick unless you have above-average co2 levels.

@Neb
yeah, the guy at my grow shop recommended the GC 702 over the gavita 1700. the gavita is like $300 more expensive but he said you would have to buy 2 other parts including a controller to be able to adjust percentages or something like that. i know there are a few reports on the 702 but i wish there were more. do they cause stretch or anything ? i’m hesitant to switch to LED

A bit of stretch but not as much as when i ran straight HPS. I’d say the price on LEDS is probably going to keep going down so no real reason to rush into it.

Exactly!

We are slowly approaching ‘a buck a watt’ Canadian for good quality lights now.
If you don’t have an immediate need, wait and watch.

Typical Hydro Store Guy shit. They’re on the same rung as “Used Car Salesman” on the Sleazy Ladder, which is one rung above most IG “breeders.”

@The_Lazy_Hippie my males are done. None were tagged keepers by the group. Do I still need to keep the clones.

i did another round of crushing stems to slow down stretch since the first round has healed up and A1 is smelling nasty. the little baby flowers still smell like brewing coffee, but the stems are all burnt rubber and simple green. A1 also has fan leaves the size of Rachmaninov’s hands.
i found a couple more male sacs on A2 yesterday, bringing the total to 6 found on 10th and 11th day of flip. i’m still keeping her around, but if any pop up after early flower she’s getting chopped.

Taking clones on my plants that are about 8 weeks from sprout and I still cannot see any male pre-flowers anywhere lol. So at this point the thought that I might have all 22 plants be female cannot be disproven lol. I am not seeing definite pistils either though. I would have expected these kids to show their sex by this point.

C5 clone is doing good and I saw roots on her today.

Here’s a little Sunday update. Big snow comin again this weekend! Males have been removed, tent cleaned. Lots of seeds in sight. Just top dressed for wk 4 - kelp, neem, and gnarly barley - keeping a more veg orientated nutrient with neem for some N. Thinking I’ll probably top dress again at wk 6.
Smells: Tent in general smells very sweet, musky, with a dark chocolate / coffee aroma. Clones have been stubborn from my first batch - only 4 have rooted so far (g2, g6, g8, g9). I took additional clones week 2 and 2 days ago to make sure I back them all up.

Of the 6 females, 4 are similar shorter phenos, and 2 are taller phenos.
Individual pheno resin rub notes:
G2: Kushy, Berry. Shorter pheno, decent branching not great.
G3: Berry, chocolate. Tall Pheno. Nice branching.
G4: Sweet candy, Berry. Short pheno, nice branching. First one to require staking.
G6: Mild resin rub. Short pheno - best branching, very close to an even canopy.
G8: Kushy. Short Pheno.
G9: Berry, Chocolate. Tall pheno… branching isn’t too great.
