Its all good bro! No need to apologise, I’d like this journal to be full of info for looking back on, wether it’s about the varieties ive got going or growing techniques etc. It’s all knowledge!

I see when you’re running 75sqft it’s may be a bit easier to pheno hunt compared to my 16sqft lol.
Looks like one he’ll of an undertaking, props to you for doing that!

As for the smoke, on the mother, from what I remember it had quite a lavender influence to the smell, which did also translate to the taste too. Sometimes the aroma doesn’t always stay in the actual smoke. Bit this was quote flavorful.
It wasn’t full on lavender or perfumey , but it was definitely there.
I recall all of Soul Mates having a super mellow high too, like nothing racy or too heady, definitely a full body stone, but still somewhat being able to function while high lol.

A couple of friends said it was their favourite of all the plants I’ve grown, and I kept a cut around and intended to keep it for a while, but I had to shut everything down a while back and couldn’t keep any plants at all .

Day 39 of flower.

The Gnats have been defeated!!!

There seems to still be 1 or 2 that I see flying around while I’m in there watering, but looks like all it took was 30+ sticky traps and a few million nematodes.
I actually feel much better now, like mentally and physically more relaxed. It’s amazing how much stress can effect us.
Although it might not have seemed like a huge issue, it really was starting to get to me a bit. I kind of took this problem personally and questioned wether I was actually any good at doing this(?)
Living soil has absolutely been a learning curve, always happy to be learning, but this one has been rough haha.

Some things I have noticed, when the gnat population boomed, my Hypoaspis miles population seemed to disappear, I no longer seen them crawling around the mulch. I also noticed a boom in these little white mites too.
Now since the gnats have been kicked into touch, the Hypoaspis miles have reappeared with a vengeance lol.
I’m guessing the gnat larvae ware being feasted on by the Hypoaspis miles, and now there aren’t as much of the larvae (thanks to the nematodes) the Miles are back looking for food …so I’m guessing there population will start to die back down again soon too.

Now for the Plant talk.
After recovering from Covid a few weeks ago, my smell is starting to return and I can finally start to pick out aromas from the plants.

#1
Definitely has some of the wookie funk to it, looks like this one will have some pretty fat buds once they start stacking up.

#2, now that I can water it properly, is starting to recover a bit from the early fade too, this one is easily yhe largest of the 3 and still has that sweet lemon/lime smell,

#3 what was the runt, is powering ahead, this, I think looks to have the best bud structure and leaf to bud ratios.

The x2 mystery beans aren’t doing so well, starting to show pretty heavy deficiencies, and I might just pull one of them to be honest…although it is nearly 6 weeks in now… Still not sure what they are either haha.

The SAD CBD is starting to full out and has some great gassy aroma to it.

The c99 x Mendo Breathe is really starting to fill out now too, and has a great sweet smell to it…Still can’t quite place it, but as my smell returns im looking forward to knowing what exactly it has to offer lol.

And last but not least, the x2 Gasoline Dreams that I flowered 12/12 from seed.
Both have been pollinated by 2 separate males. I try to make some beans every time I grow, so my stash is always full and has something new to choose from… that’s me justifying a seed addiction lol.

Things are looking great! I can relate on the bugs gnawing at you, I have the same reaction when shit goes wrong, take it personally, but I like to think it’s an indicator of a persons dedication and desire to learn and improve, so it probably comes from a good place :v:t2:

@LegsMahoney
It’s a tough one, because as frustrating as it was and as bad as it seemed to be getting, I wasn’t going to give it up. (I can absolutely see why people would though).

Haha, I know what you mean. Seems like it takes ages to get to this point every time, and then it’ll all be over a few weeks from now.

Day 52 of flower.
The gnats are back…I’d giped after that population boomed and then every treatment imaginable, that they were on the eay out. But no they’re back.

Will water a couple more times with Gnatrol and see if that does anything.

Anyway, update pics of the buds… that’s what we’re all here for lol.

Man I can relate I’ve been going through the boom and bust with these gnats, it’s maddening. Trying out a new product recommended by an old head at one of the local grow shops called T-Drops. Dude swears by em, I’ve watered it in twice now and haven’t noticed many gnats around since the second application, might be worth checking out

Are there any drains nearby? Like kitchen/bath,floor drains? I’ve seen them living in the traps before.
Plants still look good!
