I am thinking seeds must be made bud, just have not figured out the order in which to do them. I am hoping my next run come sept will be a bud and seed run. Still got to shuck and get out the PPP seeds but Sept is coming on quickly.
Well first, don’t mean to rush you at all, but I’m really excited for September! And I just don’t really have the capabilities to do seed runs in my current set up, not unless I grow it in lieu of bud, and that’s just not really an option right now. So my seeds are better off being used than just sitting there!
I agree, I gave up my last bud run for a seed run so I need to do a bud run. No sense growing constantly and still having to buy bud. Just waiting for my paperwork to come back increasing my plant count to 29, that should make things easier.
Does no one else smoke seeded weed without a problem? Am I weird? Like I fully expect to have a few jars of ground up, ready to smoke weed from my frozen coke run, so that I can send out beans right away. Then I’ll save my other seeds I make as I smoke it.
@anon93244739 you’re not weird bro, I smoke seeded bud too. It doesn’t bother me, a little more work to bust up and roll, but the smoke does the job.
I usually smoke some and make hash out of what’s left over. Some friends that stop to smoke say they can taste the difference between seeded and non . I guess it’s tough getting all the husks removed so there might be a bit of a different taste .
I honestly like how lightly seeded smokes better. It feels like a broader array of cannabinoids IMO. Like seedless is like doing a shot of moonshine, compared to a cask aged whiskey. I’m strictly talking the high, not flavor or smell. Like seeded has more nuance to the buzz, vs just THC
Guess it depends how seeded.
I’m working under the impression that seeded bud is less potent and that extracting seed will also waste a fair amount of material. I’m also smoking medically so when I run out, I have to buy it. If I run out faster because it’s seeded, then I still have to supplement that, and I’m just barely growing enough to keep me almost floating. Still have to buy a little here and there, but rarely now.
Guess I’m the perfect guy for seed runs, huh? Lol
@FailingForwards I agree it’s less THC in seeded, I think the plant spreads it out into other cannabinoids. I feel I get better pain relief smoking the same plants seeded vs non. At least that’s my experience. Every time I’ve broughten it up, I do seem to be an outlier in my opinion though. I think dj short says something to the same effect in his book.
Weird that it would change the feeling other than weaken it somewhat. I can’t remember the last time I had seeded weed to compare to though.
Might be something to that. My first grow was from some dispensary bagseed and that plant was pretty well fertilized and is basically the reason I started growing. But I was also very new to smoking (still kinda am) so I don’t have all that much to weigh it against. Not gonna jump to any conclusions, but it isn’t something I’d really considered before.
I have a spondylolisthesis of my L5 vertebrae, basically my lower back has hurt since I was 5 years old. Either 1:1 CBD THC or seeded helps my pain management better than sinsemilla.
Plants grown for seed are usually left longer to let the seeds mature, so the effects will be more couch lock. If you were to slowly de seed as you pack your bowl or roll your J’s like back in the old days, then go ahead. But if you go through and harvest the seeds, yea you’ll end up with a lot of pre ground material, and less smokable mass since it won’t to seeds.
ask @DougDawson if he has an extra pack of my Eutierria.
Amazing pain reliever for bad back pain.
That’s me, and I’ve become skillful at sending seeds through a grinder without cracking them, maybe 1 seed every 2 or 3 weeks gets ground.
And I do let my plants go a bit long, usually 30-40% amber
Geez man that blows. I actually just dropped some Pennywise today to do a seedrun on and it’s 1:1 of around 12-15%. I’ll keep you in mind when I have some beans. Do you mess with topicals? I made a topical with the Pennywise and it’s been fantastic.
The longer you wait to harvest is more than likely the reason your getting better results than non seeded. I enjoy my seeded grape pie more than the unseeded thinking that’s the reason a extra week and a half grow time.
What’s the technique? Everytime I find a seed shell in my grinder I feel like I did a bad thing.
Only topical was first time making butter. Dude gave me a black garbage bag of sugar leaf and popcorn buds… I made him 60 lbs of medicated butter with it. So much was absorbing through my skin despite the gloves I was wearing, that I could barely stand. I had to crawl the wall like I was drunk…
