Buck90’s grow log

I’ll use this thread to help me keep notes and to share my small tent hobby with my OG family.

Right now I am not far from finishing a few plants and got some right behind them.

My jars are stocked for a bit so this run will include making some fem seeds if my STS chemicals are still good - will find out soon enough.

Starting Bottom Left going clockwise we have Puck BC2 #3, Puck BC2 #3, Super Lemon Mac,
Puck BC2 #6, Puck BC2 #6, Super Lemon Mac, and another Puck BC2 #6 stuck in the middle.

I plan to reverse the SLM on the bottom right and pollinate one each of the Pucks and the other SLM.

Hey @Gonzo thanks!

I had been using Jacks Tap but for this whole run they got Jacks Part A & B at a 4g/2g gal.

Mr Greengenes on YouTube was having success and then a buddy on another forum tried it and liked it. Works great for me, using tap water at that ratio the pH ends up right at 5.6 - 5.8. No idea on EC but think he said that’s 2.0-2,1 EC

Medium is Pro Mix BX , hand water twice a day but that has to change. My work schedule is making that very difficult so automation will happen soon.

thank you @DannylovesCannabis i appreciate it

Nice , love your selections

@Jetdro glad to see you stop by, everything I am flowering out now was hunted from seed and selected by a friend who then generously passed them to me.
I love to run seeds but getting these cuts made my life so easy and now I am going to use them to learn how to grow efficiently. I usually don’t run stuff more than once so never get to dial something in.

For the STS I will be using Tony Green’s notes he shared on here on OverGrow

PREPARATION OF SILVER THIOSULFATE (STS) SOLUTION

Sigma-Aldrich:
Silver Thiosulfate (STS) is commonly used to block the action of ethylene in plant cell cultures. Ethylene is a hormone that is present in the gaseous state. Ethylene increases during senescence and ripening, and has been shown to increase in plant cell cultures due to
wounding or the presence of auxins. Silver nitrate may be used alone to block the action of ethylene but it is not transported as well as STS thus is seldom used alone.

Prepare a 0.1 M Sodium Thiosulfate (STS) stock solution by dissolving 1.58 g of Sodium Thiosulfate anhydrous or 2.48 g sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate(x1.56) into 100 ml of water.

Prepare a 0.1 M Silver Nitrate stock solution by dissolving 1.7 g of Silver Nitrate into 100 ml of water. Store the stock solution in the dark until needed to prepare the STS.

The STS solution is prepared with a molar ratio between silver and thiosulfate of 1:4, respectively. Nearly all of the silver present in the solution is in the form of [Ag (S2O3)2]3-, the active complex for ethylene effect inhibition.

Prepare a 0.02 M STS by slowly pouring 20 ml of 0.1 M silver nitrate stock solution into 80 ml of 0.1 M sodium thiosulfate stock solution while stirring vigorously. The STS can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month. However, preparation of the STS just prior to use.

Dilution strengths quick reference :

100 ml .02 M sts solution at:

20mM straight stock
15mM add 33 ml water
10mM add 100 ml water
6mM add 233 ml water
5mM add 300 ml water
4mM add 400 ml water
3mM: add 557 ml water
2mM add 900 ml water
1.5mM add 1230 ml water
1mM add 1900 ml water
.5 mM add 3900 ml water
.3mM add 6570 ml water

I did some math for adjusting the sigma recipe for no left overs: for 300 ml .02M sts the recipe is

1.0192 grams silver nitrate in 60 ml water
And
5.9566 grams sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate in 240 ml water
Or
3.7946 grams sodium thio anhydrous in 240 ml water

Seems cheap scale friendly. Penta friendly (most readily avail) and you dont have leftovers that you have to mix more to use.

Thanks LZ!, appreciate it! I can’t wait to sample a bud, won’t be long and I’ll snip a little one.

Note to self: last pics were at day 45, not 46

Here is BC at 47 with the other camera

I find most plants I run finish in 62-75 days, may be sooner on this one.

Day 31

This plant didn’t get taken care of but is going to perform anyway. I didn’t time flipping her correctly either I should have started it at the same time as the others even though she was smaller but instead I waited.
The Pro-Mix in this container seems to be lighter than the rest and so by the time I get home from work it’s dry, not limping but dry dry.

Gonna find out this weekend but she may be the one overpowering the tent with her scent. Sweet when a bit away and if I rub my nose on her grape candy all the way :grapes:

A mutant with a S curve shape on limbs and dimples on leaves. She is special for sure.

So I took some pics going into week 8 (day 50) and put them on a reduced nutes. 1/2 strength yesterday and down to 1/3 today as I don’t think these will go much past 60 days. The ESM maybe a few days longer than the other two.

Beach Crasher, the smell on this is pretty strong berry like. Haven’t had either of the parents so don’t know where that comes from

Negative - my “clone only” strains I have tried are very few. I did get to try grape pie last year….I distinctly remember that aroma
