any of you outdoor growers using bbp in your grow? the reason i ask is because where i live i have to do preventative treatments for powdery mildew and occasional bud rot on my outdoor grow. when talking with Bob from bbp it was not recommended to use my type of ipm treatment when using the bbp. bob told me the way to go was to use Agrowlyte plant wash. their web site is a bit week. no application rates or directions on how to use or mix. it is $23 a quart. and i cannot figure out the usage straight out of the bottle or mix and dilute. at $23 a quart undiluted it will be cost prohibitive for me to use because i grow big outdoors. so if any of you outdoor growers are using the bud buster pro and have to treat for powdery mildew & fungus what are you using that is compatible with the bbp. thanks mainerj.
@misterbee might be able to give some direction as to dealing with PM in the north east environment.
Cheers

ive heard good things about using sulphur dust idk if it will do well with bbp though.
thanks hope he chimes in. i have a good handle on pm control but the stuff/treatment i use would not work with the bud buster pro.
I’m going for it this year as well. BUT the moment I need to start spraying anything preventative I’m “pausing” my BBP until “whatever” is under control and then resuming.
Bob told me for my use of Defender’s End All (bugs) to wait 7 days after applying before starting up BBP again to let it break down enough on the leaf.
My go to PM is: 900ml water + 100ml 3% h202 + 1tbs of potassium bicarbonate.
Sulphur dust saved my ass but this is ONLY advisable in veg. And I personally wouldn’t using BBP as it’s most likely a great way to get the plant sulphur toxicity (*which would be impressive considering how rare that happens in soil from my observations).
i use the same as a preventative once a week to tens days just to prevent it. the nute value is 1-1-4.
i suppose i could be the guinea pig and try to test figure it out. i. was hoping to find someone who knows. are you planning on using this pm treatment when using the bbp?
Only after talking with Bob about it and I get the
Heck let’s figure this out now? @BudBusterPro will my PM treatment sauce do me good or bad with the wonder we call BBP?
Thanks! I did not know this
Gosh Pigeon…
Here’s about the safest, most effective thing you can use for PM/Bud Rot is Hypochlorous Acid it’s 800 times as powerful as bleach AND the treatment is very compatible with the BBP program.
Not all Hypochlorous Acids are the same… there are two available for foliar treatment.
PM Wash
Agrowlyte
Of the two, I would suggest Agrowlyte,. the acid concentration is higher and thus probably much more effective on Bud Rot.
If these products aren’t an option for you, we can still use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide right out of the bottle. The H2O2 program works, but it requires vigilant applications…
If you have another product in mind, send me a label on it and I can advise from there
Bob
BBP Nutrient value is 1-1-20. However, it shouldn’t be considered a nutrient for two reasons…
- At the miniscule amounts applied, it doesn’t contribute much to your nute program.
- It is specifically designed to enhance some specific metabolic pathways, hence the reason we want no other foliar nutrients applied…They have a very high chance of mitigating our intended purposes…
Hope that helps!
Bob
i was checking out the agrowlyte plant wash web site give no directions or use on the product. $23 a quart. is that for direct application, or for a mix and dilute? a quart might do one out door for me? protec and h202 gets way better mileage? can mix up lots for low $ i all in for the wash but am unable to price caculate for needs? do you know the use mix rate?
You have a lot of time, sun, and root space outdoors you don’t need more growth and stretch.
You’re better off researching how to boost its immune and trigger it to get more thrichomes. Thrichomes and hair phenols is what protects the plant mostly.
Cytokinins will make typical outdoor mids a bit tighter too.
Pinching the top stems around flower and stretching phase will increase ethylene to keepem tighter.
thank you good post. i do want more growth though. i have been protecting the plants ipm wise for a while. i was searching for help with what people have used bud buster pro in the outdoor. also searching the ipm requirements when using this product so i do it as it should be done.
Brassinolide, triacanatol, kelp extract powder high in cytokinins, aminos mix that has14% N. Enjoy your monsters.
Oh no! Another one not currently available in
Gonna email them and ask about it.
Thanks Bob!
The forementioned Hypochlorous acid products are applied as is.
You may find other PM products that will work for you. If you have a history of Bud Rot problems,
IMHO it may pay dividends to have some Agrowlyte on hand.
If total organic route is not imperative for you, there are commercial fungicides that will do the job.
One fungicide that is fairly effective on Alternaria,PM,Botrytis (Bud Rot) is sold in many garden centers.
The active ingredient is clorothalonil and is sold under many brand names…
Mariner, we can always be sure of compatibility with BBP if you just check with me beforehand…I work closely with my growers so am used to verifying compatibility or suggesting alternatives…
It’s just a matter of the grower sending me a picture of the label contents…FWIW
My uncle treats his outdoor plants ( powdery mildew ) with straight peroxide.
They sell it in a spray bottle and he does not even dilute it.
Cheap and effective
He sprays his outdoor plants through out the whole grow.
Hope this helps
Happy growing
I have a hoop house and had PM issues last season. Any recommendations on cleaning the plastic/inside area of the hoop house? Could there still be PM spores left over from the previous grow?
