under grow lights,I know the milk bath works outside under sun, but will I mess the plant up with a 5 hour treatment under my LED’s?..I know that any water on the plant under them will burn. Thoughts? Especially from someone that has tried it either successfully or not.
Milk was never an effective remedy with PM for me, indoors or out.
PM is insidious and relentless in its pursuit of my zinnias and less frequently, my outdoor cannabis plants. I have never really had a major problem with PM indoors.
But what I found to be most effective in arresting PM is alternative daily spraying with
Potassium Bicarbonate (mixed with water) then sprayed with a solution of vinegar and water the next day. Keep alternating the daily spraying and you will provide the PM with a very inhospitable medium for spreading its nasty, evil spores.
This does not eliminate PM, but it does stop the spread to a large degree.
It has worked before for me but have found it more effective if you let the mix set in the sun for a hour or so to ‘activate “ the bacteria ahead of time… These-are my neighbours plants, I never get it myself but coming from a farming background have seen it work on squash cantaloupe etc…. So tried it on cannnabis before and it has worked. I am familiar with the potassium bicarbonate treatment as it is a anti fungal for brewing, but due to COVID is hard to come by right now…… the milk solution I have put on 3 other outside plants twice earlier this week have no trace left at all,… 2 to 3 tlspns organic apple cider vinegar to gal of h2o works vey well as well.

I do the same thing but add hydrogen peroxide to this mixture, I don’t know the exact amount but I use 1 capful of hydrogen peroxide per liter of water
Spray on plants every one to two weeks. Potassium bicarbonate– Similar to baking soda, this has the unique advantage of actually eliminating powdery mildew once it’s there. Potassium bicarbonate is a contact fungicide which kills the powdery mildew spores quickly.
Use worm castings in soil and I spray Foliar during flower.
Got a link or something I can read about this? Super curious about it.
I’ve been having a lotta issues outdoors this year. Indoors I’ve found I can produce mildew anytime I want by letting the temps drop at night for a week or so. As long as I keep it warm in there at night, I’ve been having zero problems.
It is ultra heat treated you see it in supermarkets sealed in tetra paks…. We use it in camps in artic and tastes like crap but I can’t stand black coffee lol
I ask because last time I got ultra pasteurized. I wont get it next time. I’m just curious why that is. I dont really understand why milkwater works. I also got fat free last time, but I’m not sure if that was right either.
Took a look at the outside plants that were treated and they are completely clear… for now but will update as I think they will need a second treatment……the reason I think it works is your treating it with a bacteria not a fungicide or mildicide but I am just a humble farmer not a scientist
I use whole milk…. I don’t believe in the UHT because I think the heat kills the beneficial bacteria as well as the bad that’s why it has a loooong shelf life…. I have found 60% clean water and 40% milk mixed and left in warm sun for an hour and then misted over the plants and then leave plants to at least 5 or more hours of sunlight does the trick on vegetable plants…… this year was especially bad had it on my tomatoes as well but first time seeing it on cannabis….didn’t help that they were clones
I am currently addressing the issue of PM outdoors and after a defoliation I have been spraying the plants down every few days with a mix of: 900ml water+1tsp Potassium Bicarbonate (dissolved) + 100ml 3% H202.
I do this at sundown so the breeze + suns low horizon rays dry out the plant before dark. Otherwise if it’s obviously NOT going to dry by dark (like today), I pull out the leaf blower; or in your case a fan of appropriate size.
