C-Rex Cretaceous Cannabis Cave

sorry…parts per million of dissolved solids(salts etc) in the water. Salinity/mineral/impurity content of water tested. We’re on a well and our water(while fine for human consumption) sits at over 150 ppm up to 350 ppm or so depending on the season. Its mostly Calcium and magnesium and sulphur, from the limestone laden water table, but is considered ‘hard’ water. Clogs pipes and water heaters and coffee makers, I would love a reverse osmosis system but, for plants, I use rainwater. Occasionally I will go 1:4 tap:rainwater mix, but my soil has a lot of calcium (crab shell, oyster flour,Chicken poop, etc.) and magnesium from compost and a pinch of epsom, and sulphur from the onion rich composter. I noticed years ago the well water effect of lockout, especially my early attempts at Chem genetics, and OG’s, for some reason. The only white crusty shit on my soil nowadays is the chunks of floating perlite LOL

I aerated with gravity, air, and finally mixing perlite, castings and bio-live? (myco and others fungi/bacteria) They look OK this morning, again I’ll get some pics. The soil has a normal soil smell (the rest is in a tote, without the cover, in the basement this time) to it. Hopefully just an incomplete ‘cooking’ that is now in hyper-drive? Fingers crossed. You make the LABs or EM1, is that correct? excuse the ignorance/lazy web warrior question pls.

thanks for the explanation …i use well water …here it is iron …turns everything rust color …been using it and have not seen any problems …but then i am doing chemicals and not the delicate soil/nute thing your doing

your welcome , I’m flattered a long time member such as yourself (and ReikoX) are looking in…thnx. The well water situation in this area varies wildly from property to property, Untreated well water is undrinkable anywhere north of central Ontario due to the geology. I am right on the old shoreline of the ancient lake, that is now the Great Lakes, and is old mudflats and beaches that are now fossilized into limestone. My kids used to love going out back to the stone field fences from the 1800’s and fossil hunt, shit they are in their 20’s and we still go rockhounding lol.

my kids are in their 40’s… the only reason i am any good at this growing thing is cause i grew up on an organic farm and we grew everything… we all had to help …so to me weed is just another plant …my dad gets our garden soil tested to make sure everything that grows in it is super high value food …he is 87 and still growing …any way your grow is extremely interesting to me

You are good, your nose would tell you real quick if you had nasties in there.

Glad they look better. Yes you make LABs or you can buy EM1 which has LABs and other beneficial microbes.

There’s the burning on the seedlings. I am waiting for my water to melt and I will flush again today, I think I got it in time. another couple of days and we’ll e able to tell for sure. Hoping just a simple case of uncooked soil, too hot for seedlings, Only the Strawberry biscotti sundae showed burning, the other 2 strains seem a little more resistant to my impatient foolishness.

It really showed up quickly, like 36 hrs or less after transplant.

You probably burned some of the roots with the hot soil after the transplant.

Ok so update a cpl things, the veggers I burned are showing better leaf colour and no more chlorosis, since flushing them. Run-off on a couple of these are in the 250 ppm range still so I flushed 3 of them last night. Got figures in low 200’s 10 minutes after, so should be good. Having said that, I haven’t checked run-off in the bloom cycle like…ever. I don’t really flush anything in bloom, and use plain water from start to finish, almost always. I occasionally will do some top dressing, but not often. So I really have no idea what I might get from ppm levels there… I believe in KISS so, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Outside of my ‘no patience’ approach, this time, with my waterlogged stored soil, I use the same soil and process for every run, and I may check run-off with a harvested plant, just to compare. The newly added additions to the bloom room (pebble pusher and Bodega bubblegum) are starting to show sex, and I culled a male and took its clones out of the cloner. I cut-up the clone cubes to check on progress. I previously noted which rooting aid I used (in addition to aloe dip for all) and took a pic of the progress. NOT that this is a stientific control test, BUT, clones are from the same plant, and conditions were identical except the 2 clone aids. Everyone is familiar with Stimroot, I imagine, but the other rooting aid was locally bought at a local herb farm, and is their branding. It is clay based and I’ll get a readable pic of the label up if I can. I have used it in the past, and this is just 1 clone, but well, you can see the difference, there are another few that will get the boot (male) and I’ll check them for comparison. Not looking good for the local, organic? one though.

And the poor abused and heat-burnt Lucky 7’s made her 10 weeks, now awaiting chop

I would say yes, with no clone for comparison… but the buds didn’t really swell much in the last cpl weeks, like normal. The damage to the leaves was apparent, but I believe the whole bud surface got a bit crispy and hardened? Buds are solid, but they never bursted with foxtails. Week or so and a test smoke… good trichrome coverage considering and has that fuelly, minty stardog aroma, so we’ll see. I’m not expecting much, as long as it doesn’t taste burnt on the first haul…lol

New babies Surefire seeds (The greenpool) OD (original dawg)x Titanic is the cultivar that produces the best migraine meds for my partner.I got no problem killing plants, but so many males have been executed through the years, I always wonder the magic we have tossed, before giving them a chance…To the composter!!! just popped 5 beans that are a cross of stardawg and headbanger …am calling them star banger … do not know much about the genetics will be interesting to see how they do and if the cross kept the minty trait your talking about …

I’m terrible at describing flavours Most of the diesels and sours I’ve grown have that minty mouthwash background to me It sometimes feels tingly on my tongue or on your lips. The Stardawg (dog)? I have is the Greenpoint male, Corey cut? of topdawg seeds crossed with Lucky Charms. The male flavour comes out in the couple strains I’ve grown. The greenpoint stardawg cross has that ‘chem funk’ as well that I got from the IC91 I have, but a fresher less rotten corpse thing goin on.
