People get too comfortable with what they post.

Fuck that “treat others how you want to be treated.” The Golden Rule is “You don’t have to do anything wrong to get in trouble.”

Overgrowing is more fun.

This is a sad tale, indicative of the ineptitude displayed by many municipal “leaders”.

Excepts from article:

… Costa Mesa’s forecast of a cannabis tax windfall has yet to come true. According to Assistant Finance Director Jennifer King, the city projected receiving $1.56 million in tax revenue from marijuana-related businesses during the 2018-19 fiscal year, but instead collected $163,803…

…Steve Hellings, a Costa Mesa resident who owns SW Ventures — a manufacturing business that extracts and purifies oil from raw cannabis that could be used in vape cartridges — said taxes “should go down to 1% and then [council members] can do their study. When there’s no oxygen in the room, you don’t sit there and debate whether you know how much oxygen you should give people.

IMO, this is approach is preferable to what most states have implemented.

Speaking only for myself, I have no interest in legalized sales, and find home growing much more
appealing.

The taxman is gonna want some consideration, and will try to worm his way in somehow.
We will see.

This is pretty crazy but not suprising. Pretty sad that almost 70000 people die a year in US from overdoses and they are still wasting resources chasing a harmless plant🙄

I think that this is a workable idea.
It’s too simple…and my hunch is that it will never happen.

agreed
most places that have legalized seem to legislate in a manner that keeps the money as close to the top of the food chain as possible. i would love to see a system that allows for everyone to get a piece, from the reseller to the home grower all the way up to the massive commercial ops. but its hard to effectively tax resellers and home growers, and thats why a lot of places arent going for it, i think. what governments dont seem to get is that the difference in quality (and price) between the little guy and the big guy is what is keeping the black market alive and well. if they would just ease up on the greed a little bit, i think we could all be better off

I have a hunch that this company is going bye-bye.

IMO, their product was ridiculously over priced.
