I’ve generally gotten $100 quarters / $200 a half, but its nothing to brag about (all the more reason to control my own quality now). Never been in a jersey dispensary though…

I like the legalization side, but never want govt control in anything, incompetent idiots that they are. But I hope that legalization / acceptance brings about changes that are broad. Tobacco is legal, how many smokers are there vs. who grows their own? To them its not worth the effort. Include me in that group. Same with vegetable gardeners vs. a supermarket. I also think we’re YEARS if not DECADES away from that point. And I still think that much like the beer industry has Budweiser / Coors, they also have thousands of micro-breweries. You’ll have Big-Canna… And you’ll have all the micro-farmers… But government control? i.e. plant limits, permits, licensing for personal is BS. Maybe if you wanna go commercial, sure, there’s some hoops to jump thru. But I can see many personal growers becoming “Craft Cannabis” vendors one day.

Or maybe I’m just high… who knows  I try to stay positive… And the fact that I can smoke a bowl on my front porch and not be harassed now is VERY different from when I was growing up… Change is coming… one way or another…

This is the kind of thing that is happening in Canada since Prohibition 2.0 started.

At first it was near impossible to start a commercial grow as the hoops were huge to jump thru. Security like Ft. Knox would tack a million on to the project plus grows had to be huge to get approval and it was all wrapped up in a giant ball of red tape.

Things are changing and smaller players are coming into the market with craft pot from micro-grows much like the craft beer market and craft distillers as they’ve relaxed the rules for those over the years too.

They are allowing outdoor growing for commercial pot and hemp farmers are now allowed to sell leaf and bud to legal extractors where it all had to be destroyed and only fiber and seed was harvested. Farm size has been brought down to 10 acres I think so smaller producers can get in and fiber processing plants are being built so they have places to sell their stuff.

And like with alcohol and tobacco only a small percentage of folks bother producing their own with most happy to pick their stuff up at a store. A lot of people of course jumped on the home grow band wagon at first but as more well grown and treated pot comes online many of the marginal growers will join the ranks of ‘customer’ and buy commercial. Seems to be a lot of slightly used grow gear for sale these days and I suspect most of it is from home growers who found out it’s not as easy to grow fire as they thought it was.

And there are a lot of personal growers getting into the ‘Craft Cannabis’ industry so I may even break down and pick up some bud from a store someday but haven’t bought any so far.

I think the ever increasing toxic pesticides and herbicides and heavy metals like methyl mercury and aluminum in our food and water is probably more to blame. Perhaps they should do a comparison with anti depressants and tranquilizers see how the compare to cannabis.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences.

– C. S. Lewis

The UK will not go legal until the US Fed does, its good to see some CBD starting to enter into the market. My stepmom has Parkinson’s, I told her 5 years ago to ask her doc for a CBD script but he is still refusing to do it. She is nearly 90 now, and believes her doctor is God and refuses to go find another, which is typical of her era. I doubt the UK public will ever get to grow their own, it will all be corporate grown.
