Gotta read more local news Some interesting ideas on the table in this crazy state, including low cost licenses for people convicted of cannabis related crimes, or in impoverished areas (uh, ANY grow in Newark or Paterson is gonna be inside LOL). But theres a limit of 37 ābigā licenses (over 10 employees in the co), and supposedly they donāt want a limit on the āsmallā licensesā¦ Big licenses can fetch $100k - $500k. But those are the companies that are converting former Walmarts into grow ops (like the one in Readington)
I gotta find the link with the $100 / $1000 license bit. Wasnāt finalized, but when I saw both those numbers, all I could think was āSo youāre sayingā¦ I got a chance???ā lol
My lifelong hobby of growing plants began in the Garden State. I moved to FL in 1980 in order to grow year round outdoors.
Several decades laterā¦ to this day the largest most impressive plants that I ever grew were in the rich, fluffy and loamy native soil of Warren County NJ. Morris County was a close 2nd.
Anyway, I have a few siblings that remain and still grow in Warren County.
I have zero confidence that the powers that be are going to deign to allow home growing anytime soon.
chemical, burning nasty shitā¦ Instant turn off, you know it was grown by an idiotā¦ I hate āchemāsā to begin with, but when you just rely on garbage, you produce garbageā¦
I remember $100 ozs in college, 25yrs ago. Triple S weed, āSeeds, Stems and Shakeā, drove to NYC, grabbed on Jerome Ave, back home we went. Yuck, I wouldnāt even burn it as incense today.
$800 a lb, indoor with good genetics, would be stealing here. My electric bill would barely be covered to produce that. I donāt grow to sell, so ultimately I save $200 a mo now (added electric is less than what it woulda cost to buy a bag a month) LOL. But man, I canāt say I wasnāt tempted seeing those numbersā¦ Itās just not an arena I wanna jump into. NOW if they start issuing $1k licenses? Iām all over that, and if its $100? HELL YEAHā¦
yes, we have idiots in government, its a requirement I believe.
But I am gonna go with the positive thinking here. Just a few years ago I had zero confidence it would ever be legal recreationally, and yet here we are today and I can light up a joint on my front porch and have a conversation with the local police at the same time.
Warren is beautiful farmland. Morris / Sussex as well. All part of an ancient lakebed that gave birth to the black dirt region of Orange County NY. The Appalachians kinda cut it up a bit. Gotta say, thereās either great soil, or tons of glacial till. LOLā¦
The $100 dollar ounces are adequate but I wouldnāt say good. Maybe they are grown with miracle grow.
Thereās a reserve an hour and a bit away from me that has 13 (yes 13 I counted) dispensaries on the same 2km stretch of road. And they all do $100 ozās.
And the parking lots are all full. Itās crazy. They BOGO deals on long weekends.
They must be getting their supply very very cheap. Where I couldnāt say.
The requirement I am not fond of is ālive in the municipality, or adjoining municipalityā. So, if my town is a bunch of dicks, I gotta move, or get an apartment somewhere?
Depends on where you live for ādo it from homeā. Lots of properties by me are dual zoned, commercial / residential. Might be possible, if my town didnāt cover its ass with a blanket ban till the dust settlesā¦ I chuckled when I saw Montclair was one of the approving towns, used to go to the Inner Eye headshop way back when (that eventually became the dispensary in Montclair). When it was the only head shop close without having to go to the city LOL
I went to Montclair State College way back before it became a University.
I lived on Fernwood Pl off of Valley Rd. I have not been back there since 1972.
But I thought that it was a really nice town.
Oh, ohā¦too much chat in a non chat threadā¦hahaha!
There is news and current events being shared! ROFL
I worked at the Montclair YMCA as a swim instructor / lifeguard. Loved how that town had beautiful homes with tree lined streets, and yet it had a nice downtown area (near the Y). Couldnāt afford to buy a home there now, triple the price of my current home! VERY familiar with Valley Rd, its how I got from Rt 46 to the Yā¦
A former Marine was pulled over for following a truck too closely. Police took nearly $87,000 of his cash.
Police found no drugs, and Lara, 39, was charged with no crimes. But police nonetheless left with his money, calling a Drug Enforcement Administration agent to coordinate a process known as āadoption,ā
I speak from experience, having no resources other than a txt file from the anarchists cook book on growing. I used miracle grow and the buds tasted like shit. This was 20+ yrs ago and havenāt used that stuff on smoke in that long.
The Mexican government stalling on legalization, probably because they are trying to setup their own big grows ready to beat the public with products in the market at the point of being legal.
But Senate Majority Leader Ricardo Monreal Avila said in April that if the court were to make a declaration of unconstitutionality before a measure to regulate cannabis was approved, it would result in āchaos.ā
Chaos, as in we wonāt be able to make any money from this if its just decriminalized and anyone can grow and use it
Burnette had to answer questions on the stand about a [tape-recorded conversation he had with undercover FBI agents] in which he bragged about helping lawmakers craft the 2014 law that paved the way for Trulieve to enter the Florida market. One of those lawmakers, former state Rep. Halsey Beshears, is the brother of a Trulieve board member. Rivers herself was subpoenaed in the case for information, although that inquiry was about a different business venture, not Trulieve.
Iām not a fan of miracle grow for marijuana but I gotta say āsalts is saltsā. If plant smokes like shit I would suggest the issue is way too much nitrogen at harvest and/or harvesting, drying, curing, techniques. I donāt believe we ātasteā what we fertilize with. If that were the case my weed would taste like lobster and bat shit. I could (but wouldnāt) grow with miracle grow right now and the weed would taste excellent. The problem with long term slow release ferts is you canāt cut N when you need to .and you canāt boost P and K in flower.
From all Iāve read about the cause of that āchemā taste in pot itās more the excess P that a lot of people think they need causes that than N tho too much of everything is more likely the main issue.
A buddy buys legal pot here and tastes like approved plant sprays used in flower to me. Smells of it too. Iāve yet to buy any of it.
