Cannabis microscopy

That looks nice… Can we expect some dancing trichomes? It’s psycho-active after all…

hell yah, that kind of thing is coming up, I just had to try the video capture first and get used to how it works. Now I’ll read the manual, make sure I’m not insane  lol no I just have to read the part about the frame rate again. As you can see I was recording at 114fps way too fast I think I adjusted the slider too much. I will record at a normal frame rate for computer video which seems to be around 23.9fps. Seems kind of low. ok but I played back several videos and that seems standard 23.976fps gotchya.

Sunds right to me, cinema is filmed at 24 fps. :movie_camera:

fuuuuck me! I have only scratched the surface of the imaging software. I so badly want to do an EDF picture where it stitches together different levels of focus into one massive all-encompassing field. Or… Enhance the field of view by combining photos into one huge one. Phew I’m gonna be busy as a canadian beaver! I got an mu1003B damned manual says my rendering pipeline is the thing I should use to set the speed as high as I can for a “real life” experience. And it will depend on the resolution I choose.
I’m not sure the manual had my setup in mind. It seems to handle anything.

oh yah, here’s my entire setup if anyone cares to know:

  1. ROG STRIX system nvidia 2060rtx 16 gigs ram ryzen 5
  2. darkfield biological research scope
  3. high speed amscope 10MP camera

Probably a setup I spent 4500$ on and worth every penny. They are all hooked together in my analysis dept where I play minecraft  Got the dogs bed here too she gets really upset if the computer ever goes dark… it’s like someone died. She flips out if the power goes out, then the computer goes dark for sure.

ahh that’s when it really pays to have a good computer system. Check out this shit.

the product of several min of my time yet only seconds of the computers time. Suddenly a startling photo of the hash! It’s all in focus at the same time. Depth of field, kiss my ass.

huh all this time those groovey images on the microscope were the product of high powered computer rendering. Shitballs! facepalm no wonder I was having trouble getting any depth or field of view! Those things are all the product of computer wizardry!

Ya, that is really, really kick ass imho. Nice work man. :v:

Thanks! I can’t wait to crack this out and do a trichome count…phew and I’m just getting warmed up! Got to read more manual junk it’s hundreds of pages.

ohh this manual has all the secrets, I was reading a manual for the older version of the software. Then I realized things weren’t working like it said. So in the help it linked me to the actual manual. hah hah better get reading. Classic user error. I think I can generate a much better image using EDF now. It uses a special process called live EDF where you just twirl the focus knob while it computer generates a focused image. And here I was stitching images together like an idiot while reading old instructions.

wait…wait…what? One of the processes is counting objects. That’ll come in handy. I predict some EDF combined with object counting to be in the future. ahhhhh crap I’ll have to meditate…err medicate on some of these subjects covered in the manual. Get used to the lab rat talk.

like holy crap it makes me wish I hadn’t knocked all those trichome heads off, then it would have really looked radical! Amazing photo made by live EDF image processing.

lol! and NOW I turn on the darkfield correction to eliminate the darkfield noise. ohh well at least I am improving!

Thats fucking amazing. Loving the EDF shots!

You’re telling me! I almost crapped my pants after making the first one…magic IS real! Well…ok algorithms that blend images together are real. I haven’t even tried the different blend methods yet, I think there are three in total promising different levels of detail suppression. That’s the downside of the EDF is the loss of superfine details. On the other hand…FUCK YAH! It’s like crap I only seen in magazines and on tv!

The imagery of the colors going up the stalk of the trichome…fucking epic.

I could totally see those printed out and hanging up on a wall somewhere! :+1:

I’m planning to do one with some nice live trichomes, then get a nice image and print it out at walley world slap that sucker on the wall I think I can get poster size! People will be like woah who made that amazing photo, I’ll be like “I did…sucker!” Turns on the halogen lamp and cuts a small sample off a bud

I think you could sell them lol. Seriously, I’d buy one!

It’s probably a good idea, not like I have to start a warehouse to store images of weed! Unless…they use up that many hard drives!

I will make sure I’m super good at it first though. You’ll have to suffer through a million images before that happens! ha hhah I have to try out everything!

oh I forgot I didn’t think I had posted this here.

it’s an amazing photo I’d consider putting on the wall, that’s for sure.
