Itās the spruce moose!
Looks beautiful man. I am all about using or re-using unconventional building supplies. When I was a kid me and my pops and a few other family friends built a cabin on a friends property. There was an old almost falling down farmstead on crown land across the highway, so we snuck across and tore it down over the course of a couple of nights and hauled the old but very much still good wood. The walls are solid 4x4 with beautiful weathering on them. We just replaced some of the deck which was starting to rot out.
PS Doesnt pulling nails suck?
My woodshed used to look EXACTLY like that, till a tree crushed it in a storm last summer. Raw 8" trees and typical log style construction, but pallet walls and a corrugated steel roof. I rebuilt with 2x10, 4x4 and 2x4, insurance paid but I miss the rustic look of my original creation.
@MysteryMoog PHENOMINAL use of pallets! Here I was proud of my pallet shed, and your home is gorgeous! I gotta snap a pic of it today and post it, but WOW, youāve done some amazing things with pallets!
Its āaged woodā And I have several piles, probably still 30-40 pallets out backā¦ Plus other specialty pallet wood (1x8 x 6ft from āpallet shelvesā used to ship plants in tiers).
Excellent bro!
@Donnie your packages arrived , thank you.
So, Iāve been wondering; whatās the M.O. for ābreedersā that seem to release exclusively F1s and occasional F2s and Bx1s, which seems like almost everyone. Am I right in assuming that:
-
When the generation of a parent is not listed itās a cloned F1
-
When the generation of a cross is not listed, itās also an F1
-
As a corollary to 1 and 2, the majority of breeders are slamming F1s into each other, most of which are polyhybrids that havenāt seen an IBL or a landrace strain in several generations, and the only control over outcomes is through selection.
That is very true. If you have good gens and your just making seeds to be making them. You have an apple.
Great, I will be watching, I spent some time the past few days reading about Mephisto and about reversing following some of the things you pointed out. I hope to learn more via your adventure, ideas and the data you are sharing
Hey folks! Can you veg a plant too long? Thanks in advance!
@misterbee ā¦now about that money bag. I can release it for ā¦oh, say half your seeds?!
Iāve vegged plants for up to 7 yearsā¦
Almost all of my mothers go for a few years minimum
YOU CAN HAVE THE CASH, MAKE SURE YOU RETURN THE STASHā¦BAG!! SS/BWā¦mister
crap!! I was afraid of thatā¦ guess Iāll just use this dirty ol money to buy more seeds then
You must be getting a few here a bit scared! LOL!
I read once where another grower vegged a plant for 17 years!!! Iām talking take cuttings, grow, harvest, reveg. Find a good/great one, keep her going!! SS/BWā¦mister
Iāve rarely revegged, but then I take lots of clones to run instead of the mother.
Only time I ever revegged was when I didnāt take clonesā¦and that mistake wasnāt repeated!
Also, the ones that went 5-7 yrs were Bonsaiād.
Iām glad to have folks interested in my grow! Mephisto has been my go-to auto breeder for the same reason I like HSC so much for photos: they work almost all the lines they offer into later filial generations (with some exceptions, but theyāre forthcoming about something being an F1). I think pretty much everything Mephisto offers is F3+.
I saw after I had already undertaken this project that Sebring made forum stomper seeds in the past, so it seems like this is hardly a new idea. I just want to piggyback on the stability of their line to create seeds for myself or to give away for free that arenāt $9 a pop or whatever they come out to.
