Definitely some killer assets my friend, very impressed. Myself I just have a couple regular vehicles and one ātoyā a home (not completely paid off) and my wifeās student loans 38,000$ when we started no idea now, and a debt I inherited Iāve been paying for 10 years too. I want a cottage and a decent boat SOOOOO BAD. But am unsure if it will ever happen. Iāve actually been thinking of moving way out to nowhere, buying a piece of property and building my own small home idk
My wife has a kicking kitchenā¦4, convection ovens, inlaid glass cook tops, 1800w microwave, granite counters, blah blah, and itās just the beginning All, no costā¦cept fuel and time.
Thats crazy, you wonder about those parents because they werenāt brought up like thatā¦ My parents told me, you want something, you earn it. Had a paper route. Started my first job at 13 for $1.75 hr. at the local campground. They taught me to earn for the things I want. Pretty much all my friends parents were the same way, so I donāt get the disconnect with how they raise their kids today (I say this not having kids of my own). And why donāt I have kids? Really donāt wanna bring a child into this current world, despite wanting to actually have oneā¦ Thats some pretty strong stuffā¦
I cant imagine my parents ever stealing money from me. No, they charged me rent once I graduated college, ferretted that away in a savings account and gave it to me on my wedding day to help buying a house. That teaches responsibility, AND benefitted me a second time. I guess some of us get lucky with better parents, and some kids get the shit end of the stick
Best thing we ever didā¦but, it was scary. Especially when you just walk off your job, load a U-Haul up (that I bought in some field for 500), and move to some town you never been too, to some property that your still trying to figure out how you got it for 17, when they were asking 48ā¦all the while, the only money you have is 340 bucks left after the fuel to get there
WOULDNāT change it for the world
Start your own TODAY brother
By the way, for the curiousā¦
Step 1 set tent up
Step 2 evict squatters (also look for employment)
Step 3 start enjoying your new, improved life
I was in the home Reno industry for years and years and years. (Had my own painting business) the free stuff I obtained is mind boggling. I still grab peopleās trash OFTEN in fact. I built an entire VERY NICE wooden shed with windows, doors, shingle roof, lighting and cupboards all with material left at job sites. Most Kids nowadays would be like āwell if itās in the garbage, must be garbage? Lmao
Well one good way of uppin your status bar, put a bunch of bullshit on here.
Donāt tell me you even bother with the pipsā¦ LOL. I wish there was an option to just turn em off board-wide.
edit:
ps this IS the chat thread
Iāve got one for ya and this is from my generation! My wifeās mom made her work at the family restaurant from 13-17 4 years at least 5 days a week after school and ALL WEEKENDS , ALL. Told her she would take 75% and put it in an account for her so when she turned 18 sheād have a nice nest egg. Well when she turned 18 and we got our first apartment and she was pregnant. Her mom says what money? Oh no after a while I stopped doing thatā¦. WTF? Thatās sooo low! Needless to say her mother has zero part in our lives or my kids but I could not imagine outright burning my children! What a degenerate
Wtf is a status bar? Or pips?
Iām not sure either
But, since this IS MY original thread and I am the OP, from way back, I can post what I like I figure
Always assumed chat thread was for chattingā¦. My bad lol
those little green dots by your nameā¦ you get more as you post more, get likes, all sorts of reasons I assume for the system to say āoh, you have earned 8 pipsā
I think we found one
And when I last came back in here after not looking for 2 days it was 1200 posts ahead, definitely some chatting going on in here even without me. Iāve barely ever even spoken in here, someoneās a bit sour today I see. Perhaps blaze one, works for me @Greyfox
Just happened to of been your post, I thought I hit regular reply.
Not āReplyā to your post
I think most of us chatting have been here a while, me since 2016 and the original before that. I am pretty pipped out I suppose. Obviously any other ones, I will not be getting. But of course, really donāt care
But rest assured, no āpippingā going on here ā¦lmfao
@MysteryMoog im curious , what does a plane like that cost? I have a very close friend/associate who is a pilot, has a little Cessna he inherited, him and his little French bulldog fly everywhere! What an awesome life that must be!
Nope, me neither I could care less about my status, otherwise Iād be all over social media, I am not . In fact a year and a half ago I shut down my IG at 6700 followers, just cuz screw social media and what it promotes. Just my 2 cents. But definitely not my thing, in fact this is the most Iāve ever posted on here since joining . Just some good conversation thatās all
I own an experimental, simply because itās affordable. A certified plane, (Cessna, piper, etc) must be worked on by an a and p certified mechanic. Experimental I can do all the work.
That being said, you can get an experimental from all over the board. From free, get it out of here, to over a million for a turbo prop, pressurized single.
The more you can do on your experimental, the cheaper it is. Mine, I got cheapā¦cheaper than I should have I guess. 200 bucks. I will have about 6 grand in it when done. Will have a value of anywhere between 15 and 45 thousand.
EDIT: If you get one without paperwork, it can be a dance to recertify it. But, not impossible. Allot of times, you would be rebuilding more than 50% of it, which actually makes it a new build
Wow! Thatās awesome! I had no idea . So basically anyone could own an experimental with a little knowledge and a pilots license. Very cool! The places heās been and seen are incredible and now that heās retired (at 45 yo) smh thatās all he does is grow weed and fly planes. Definitely a tough life, gotta admit it makes me envious at times. But most of us donāt come from multi millionaire families either
