Hey guys! If youve grown in cocoā€¦ and especially if youve grown soil AND cocoā€¦ have you noticed a difference in the time it takes to mature? To me, it feels like it takes forrrrever in coco lol when I grew in soil it didnā€™t take as long  just me?

I think a combo of the 2 gives better drainage and easier root development, just my 2 cents as Iā€™m strictly dirt and perlite.

Hereā€™s a pic of some pretty colors  itā€™s been way too cold for this ā€œChristmas cookiesā€ (white widow x gsc) and she didnā€™t do much as far as buds go but shes gorgeous to me. I started chopping her today in hopes the lower buds would fatten up a bit. Already been 9weeks of flower tho so I doubt she will do much more. I just canā€™t grow outside of a tent :joy:

Yeah I started in miracle gro soil and perlite. The yields in coco are crazy but it sure takes a long time. Especially when youā€™re already impatient :joy:

I see ppl on here finishing autos in 60-70 days and here I am chopping mine at 90-100 :woman_facepalming::weary::sob:

I think 90/100 is the norm for start to finish on autos @ReikoX or @Mr.Sparkle could have more insight also strain selections could play a big roll also.

Hopefully theyā€™ll comment then. I really thought I was doing something weird lol even at 90-100 thereā€™s not too much amber but my wife loves it. And it makes good edibles. Just curious as to why it takes so long to even get to that point and if maybe I can do something different to help them along.

Its strain and grow specific for time frame.

As in some strains do legit take 8-9weeks if running well, others and most so as of the last alot of stuff out there is 10-12+ week longer verities which is more suited for say outdoors or low plant grows, saying that to me 90-100+ days verity isnā€™t worth the space indoors to me.

Also if the grow was a little bit rougher in nature that can extend out normal grow times by a week and half or so, and not every plant takes on an actual amber color to the trichomes or even go cloudy, some just stay clear and eventually develop an amber like hue to the resin heads, so myself i typically chop once the plant has stopped throwing out new calyxs and pistils and the ones that are there look aged.

Seems like even the autos that say ā€œ8 weeks from seedā€ end up taking 10-12. If I want to do faster ones, what strains would you suggest?

Well also consider that 8 weeks from seed you need to have your stuff pretty dialed and they need good starts, personally 9-9.5week strains are a bit more forgiving and yield more even in the long run just as there is a bit more leeway. With that said some breeders like sweetseeds are pretty accurate on their time spans of strains and if your just wanting to play with some say 9-10 week strains i could send you some of my own just to play with.

Should also note a persons medium also effects grow length with autos or i have found in my own experience as say a soil or soiless medium takes longer than say me growing in coco mainly just due to the better starts coco allows.

Iā€™m in coco/perlite. Donā€™t get me wrong, I love coco! They go strong from the minute they break the surface! Big plants w great yield! Was just wondering about the amber trichomes and if the coco was the culprit lol I have a dark Devil on week 3 so thatā€™s good! Maybe she will be quick :joy: if you want to send some seeds my way, I wonā€™t turn them down! Are they fem? I donā€™t have the space at the moment for regs. Iā€™m not picky tho- Iā€™d just have to wait to grow them is all  I think itā€™s awesome how a lot of you guys make your own seeds! Iā€™m about to try making my own soon! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Shake rattle and roll sounds like a Elvis move. Where you at if you donā€™t mind me asking sister had one around 6.0 last month .

That quake was just off the coastline. Dang! Iā€™ve never lived through a groundshaker but I have survived a tornado that went right through my block when I lived in town for a short time. There wasnā€™t much left standing but nobody died in that one.
I hope everyone is OK out that way EpiKatz.

That one was just off the coast of Northern Cal. I checked the map.
I have friends out in Cal so I have a quake tracker that letā€™s me know when and how bad.
