Made a huge difference to me, controls a window AC and heater, could not be happier. Especially through this years heat wave.

That’s when mine just said “fuck it” and stayed running on full!

Me either heh, but I need to step it up I think. The unit I am looking at is pretty simple and has temp and humidity monitor built in. @DougDawson I am hoping to dial things in a bit more to help me and the plants out. I may need to get 3 of the 4 tents lined out with controllers since 1 of the tents is so small, its not near as hard to keep in line even with flowering the shrub that’s currently in it.

I’m just a geek and most of my stuff is repurposed from other projects here. Still like to be hands on and not rely 100%, but man, having the ability to dial in temp or RH is kinda nice. Half of the reason I did it was I found some tutorials on YT, had the gear they used and said lemme play with this… It did allow me to see trends with the ability to record and graph temp, humidity, co2 and soil moisture levels… Like I said. geek. overly analytical at times…

Hey I dig it! I would love to keep things in line a bit more. My setups are so low $ (and proud of it). A gaming buddy of mine, has a NIWA controller. Would be epic to use one but the price makes me cringe. I think I would rather buy a PAR meter and some cheap controllers instead heh.

PAR meter is a whole other issue when it comes to picking one that wont rob me blind lol.

Inkbird controllers are super cheap and incredibly effective. If on a budget Inkbird is an amazing option.

Uug still out of likes… I was looking at those the other night indeed. Was not sure if I wanted to get separate units like that for temp and humidity or get an all in 1 option.

I have posted mine before, it was also a great deal, did not break the bank and is plenty accurate.

I realllly want one that’s for sure. I have no clue what these shitty cheap lights are ACTUALLY putting out lol.

Dang, those things have come down in price. I had a similar device 10 yrs ago for the reef tanks, heat / cool controller for a 1000w heater and a 1/4hp chiller, that thing cost $150 and was nearly identical to a $29 inkbird temp / $41 inkbird humidity controllers on amazon today… Looked the same except it didnt have the breakout box, it had cord ends.

Ya they are not too bad. I was eyeballing this one the last few days myself. ------> https://www.amazon.com/DIGITEN-Temperature-Controller-Thermostat-Fermentation/dp/B08K31FCFC/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=temperature+humidity+controller&qid=1635586681&sr=8-5

(Yes I am a cheapass lol)

I think the benefit of the individual ones is control both up and down.

For humidity, you could control a humidifier and a dehumidifier…

For temp, a fan to lower temps, and a heater if in a cold area and ya need it.

The all in one you linked seems to only control one humidity device and one temp device…

But that’s more expensive, lol. The Inkbirds are even on sale now. $30 for standard, $42.50 for WiFi version.

Indeed. The only reason I am ok with it is because I don’t run dehumidifiers at all because I usually don’t have a need to here and rely on the heat of my house and the equipment in the grow tents to try and keep things inline. I usually have heat issues not cold issues heh. With winter rolling in fast (19-20 degrees this morning) my heat issue in the tents should not be an issue much longer heh.

I may even swap my light on times around in a tent or 2 if need be.

Only benefit to the one I posted is its temp and humidity in 1 unit unlike the inkbirds I was looking at the other night. I may go with the inkbirds if I think I would use the extra plugs later on possibly. Good to know these cheaper controllers work alright though, because I don’t want to spend much since I may need them in 3 tents at some point.

Also this is my Par meter. Right now it’s $230 Canadian

Aah there it is! (still tired and had not went and looked for it in your posts lol) So much money for some plastic… But I need one! lol.

It’s the sensor more than the plastic that you are paying for. Wow, it gave me a like back for that, lol.

Ahh. that helps… Here in the summer, need to lower temps, and lower humidity… Once I turn the furnace on for winter, temps are not much an issue, but forced hot air for the furnace really dries the air and I need a humidifier. I use the room outside the tents as a pseudo lung room (cause its not really sealed) but have a larger dehumidifier in there that does the whole area, and little humidifiers in the tents to dial it in in the winter. Like I said earlier, they havent been triggered in months with the RH as it is but that will change real soon for me.

I used to use light times when I had large reef aquariums to help heat the house in winter. Funny, when I got divorced and moved out / took tanks down, the oil heating bill for my ex wife tripled because the tanks lights were supplementing so much radiant floor heating for the main floor (tanks were downstairs).
