Lol. In retrospect it very much seemed to be a possible octogenarian on the loose that shouldn’t be driving anymore and then everyone around them having to follow suite to be able to fit in the row.
Florida is a nice nice state too bad it is so messed up from the top to the bottom. Glad I got the hell out of there
started some seeds. 3 strains. all of 2 strains haven’t germed yet. other pack is 3/4 rooted so i planted 4/4. haven’t started seeds in a while so i’m hoping for the best.
update: 1/4 bcsc nl5 f4’s sprouted, no word on the other 3. the 6 malawi gold never made it to cups, no germinating, the 3 nl5 x tok i really wanted never made it passed paper towels either. i threw them all into solo cups just in case.
i have more bodhi’s malawi gold and then some backup malawi gold seeds from @Tejas i think. i hope they’re legit wherever they were sourced from. also have a few more of the nl5 f4s. the bodhi’s malawi gold and nl5xtok were 10+ years old so i guess i should have expected this.
Those you got from me were a reproduction of TLT Malawi Gold, so they are legit.
@Tejas
what is TLT?
The landrace team. A seed breeder.
The landrace team: “A seed breeder.”
Fixed it for you @chronix
From ag seed co/ purest indica
“The seeds came to me directly from Seattle Greg in 2020. He told me that the seeds were placed in his sisters freezer in Seattle in the early 80s and were found after she passed away in 2019. His family sent the seeds to him and he got decent germination and sent some seeds to me and I reproduced them in my greenhouse.”
What kind of damn freezer are ppl running to find shit from the 80s/lose shit for 40 years in them
Need to start cruising estate sales and check for hiding places in freezers
The seeds were probably cryogenically frozen
Since they lasted that long, 40 years
Some seeds can last a long time when temperature and humidity is stable. I chuckle when I see threads like “help germinating old seeds” about 3 years old seeds
Could be a non frost free freezer, the type you have to take everything out every couple of years to get the ice off the coils.
I have some seeds from 1991/92. I’ve tried to germinate them with multiple different techniques but they weren’t refrigerated, I think they’re unviable. I may try again sometime.
I believe in miracles Have you tried the worm box/castings method ?
My next round I’m trying worm castings. I’ve been using paper towels and bags and been pretty successful.
Does gibberellic acid help seed germination?
Gibberellic acid (GA3, GA4, and GA7) has been shown to break dormancy and increase germination in seeds of several genera
But the downside is it causes the seedlings to stretch quite a bit.
this thread is looking pretty dead, i’m surprised.
it might not fit here but i just went 8/8 germing my authentic genetics NL5 IBLs
also 8/8 on my malawi gold. thanks @Tejas
time will tell what happens. hoping for the best.
