I am a Tropical Person what can i say lmao
Man this thing is AWESOME. That pricetag though yeesh.
I already have a good dehumidifier and I had to pony-up for it, it was like 170usd. I reeeeeeally need a dedicated a/c for that room, a window unit or room standing equivalent worth even talking about is about 150-200, letās just say 200. Heaters and fans are a dime a dozen, to be fair lets say 30 for a heater, another 30 for a short tower fan. So for less than 450, i can have four separate units drawing four separate sources of power requiring four different types of maintenance and attention. ā¦ I would LOVE to have one unit that integrates all those things, and can be monitored. Oh, and can be connected to a central controller controlling the exhaust fan. I mean, damn
But everything in me as a budget-oriented, money-saving at-home hobbyist grower, is fully against spending that kind of coin on any one thing, like not even a light . My overall goal is to not even spend that much on ALL my gear combined
Iām not buying ANYTHING new from ACI until itās been on the market and proven for at least a year - assuming I want one (I donāt want this, BTW). I like my ACI fan/controller, so Iām not slagging them.
@Ris, you got one yet?
ā¦or three?
@blowdout2269 - Can not confirm or deny.
I will say I want one and will probably get one soon. I do have access to them and can pre-order.
I need one with DE-humidifier. Other than 2 weeks in the spring and 2 weeks in the fall, I run air or furnace. These dry the air.
Literally ALL the content creators are doing unboxing videos
The terraform adds heat as wellā¦ youāre not going to add all these things at the wattage that the terraform does itā¦ on top of thatā¦ the terraform has vpd controlā¦ the portable ac and all that does notā¦
The terraform has ways to make it positive or negative or neutral air flowā¦ the portable ac route does not.
The terraform will keep things within very close range of where settings for each are atā¦ Temps heat ac and dehumidifyingā¦ while if u do this on your own with several devices they will all fight each otherā¦ not conservatively plausibleā¦ and the swings will be much greater
I love itā¦ and as soon as theyāre in stock because theyāre sold-out and have beenā¦ I AM getting 1!!
If Iām the 1st here Iāll update about itās functionality @Ace71975
I have found they arenāt that greatā¦ heat will but ac not so greatā¦ I mean itāll get me to about 58 percent humidity without a dehueyā¦ but then a dehuey adds heat at the same time ā¦ just crappy the way things fight each otherā¦ Iāve been waiting for a device like that terraform 7
i was wondering and asked in a comment on their instagram post about it, if you could cut out an exhaust fan when running it recirculating with negative pressure, but they didnāt answer.
Seems like itād work, right? and you wouldnāt want an exhaust fan venting out if youāre trying to recirculate air at the same temp, thatād just be counter productive, right? i feel like i might be missing something, but in my head it worksā¦
Yes I feel like the ac inline fan exhaust will need removed after installing a terraformā¦
It would be silly to keep the exhaust after thatā¦ itāll be nice to get that foot of space back as well!!! @Growgrassblowglass
I believe it uses air from room it sits in and circulates it in the tent over and over keeping things spot on the money all while continuing to bring fresh air in along with recycled air returning from tent back to the terraform
I like the several ways it can be set upā¦ itās incredible!!
I wish i could afford it
I think I might have to save up and wait for 4/20 next year and stack the growcast code for 25% off
I just feel likeā¦ hereās how Iām justifying doing it asapā¦ when my dehuey kicks on thatās 550 wattsā¦ it runs quite a bit to keep the whole room lower where I wantā¦
Then I have the acā¦ itās central air so it kicks off when other rooms are cooledā¦
Then the dehuey adds heatā¦ canāt open the doorā¦ cats will climb my tents and have holes all the hell over everythingā¦
In very early stages I have to add heat slightlyā¦ with a heaterā¦ thatās another 1100 watts! For a small piece of shit little heaterā¦
So in the end my electric bill will pay for the terraformā¦ because Iām positive the terraform wonāt make my lights dim like when everythingās on and the heater happens to kick on tooā¦
Donāt get me wrong the heater is hardly usedā¦ but Iāll say thisā¦ no heater will stop at specific singular degrees ā¦ the terraform will thoughā¦ which is totally awesome ā¦ not having the dips at night time too lowā¦ all of itā¦
To have environmental piece of mindā¦ I would have paid 1000 dollars hands downā¦ because in the end, all the money we spend trying to growā¦ means diddly squat if it gets screwed up. So itās just so worth it to me
Just looked, max power draw on the terraform is only 800 watts!
That makes a LOT of Sense, if you can trim a bunch of devices into one device, it will surely save on the light bill.
Ok, I just got a call back from ac infinityā¦
The terraform will not switch between devicesā¦ you have to chooseā¦
It will keep co2 higher as closed loopā¦ but co2 will dissipate after timeā¦ and it will allow odor if you remove the inline fan and filterā¦ it can be a stand alone if you are not worried about odor thoughā¦ and work without the inline fan and filter.
Figured Iād update this with what itās really likeā¦ it still seems great even though u have to choose between dehuey ac heat and circulation
Any portable ac will regulate vpd.
You just buy the dongle and hook it to the pro 69 and set vpd parameters.
Build a simple manifold that connects to the front of the supply side to attached ducting.
For heat, reverse the hoses supply goes outside, exhaust is now supply.
This is (ac Infinity AC) is a solution to a problem that doesnāt exist.
Lg has a 8k btu heat pump (because thatās literally all this is) thatās exactly like This aci unit.
Stillā¦ buying several units to match will overcome the electric usage of 800 watts for ac infinity unitā¦ I find it funny people try to recreate things thinking theyāll save money somehowā¦ currently people are doing the same stuff with the cannatrol cool cure boxā¦ good luck achieving that at under 70 watts lmaoā¦ the point isā¦ it can be doneā¦ but more expensively for operating costs by very very far
How much electricity does your average portable ac use? Then add dehueyā¦ then add a heaterā¦
My heater alone is 1500 wattsā¦ and itās VERY SMALLā¦
So I think ac infinity did great at building a suffice btu ac for tentsā¦ along with the restā¦ all staying at max 800 wattsā¦ thatās where the difference is mainlyā¦ operating costs @Couchlocked
