Cherry brandy autos

I am growing 5 sebring cherry brandy autos outside atm just to get them vegged a bit, going to be throwing them in the tent soon. One of them is a male, 3 are definitely female, not sure about one of them.

I will take pics of them tomorrow when I get em in the tent so this post has some pics of em. Im curious is anyone else growing some cherry brandy autos by sebring? How are they smelling if your late flower etc?

Also, my plants are not too big and already showing sex traits. Is that because they are outside in late october with barely any sunlight? Or is that because they are autos?

Will putting them in my tent with 18 hours light slowdown their flowering slightly? They are not huge at all right now.

Id say they have like 3-5 nodes right now. Didn’t really pay attention, just checked them earlier in the dark.

Also I may keep the male and make a couple F4 seeds while im at it.

I have 3 that are about 3-4 weeks old. Not a very tall plant, but bushy. Bigger than the Spacewiz and Tycho Monoliths started at the same time. I don’t expect they will be as tall as some autos I have grown, but a good start.

not at all. They have an internal clock for triggering flowering (for some its when taproot bottoms out on the planter). All my autos are under 18/6 from sprout to cut…

I would certainly keep the male for pollen, collect and store. True male autoflower pollen can be helpful making seeds for sure! dont have to mess with reversing a female!

I am growing a pair of cherry brandy autos myself trying to reverse them. Started with six beans in water and ended up with only two popping open.

Lookin good! def way bigger then mine. Are yours showing their sex trait yet?

I can’t complain with a bushy plant. its my preferred type of plant imo and thanks for the info on the hours of light thing. And my roots are definitely poking out of their solo cup.

How long do you think the pollen can be kept for?

Yes one is female the other is still tbd.

If dried and stored properly in the freezer, pollen can last for years.

Are you planning on a bigger pot? I start in cups and before roots circle the bottom is time to transplant. I only transplant autos once.

Pollen, if collected and dried, with no contaminating plant material (it molds) should last a few months cool dark and dry… you can freeze for years, but then it’s usually use what you thaw and don’t refreeze…

Im definitely planning a bigger pot. 5 gal fabric pot to be exact, in coco that is already buffered from my last indoor grow. I grew plants with the coco from last grow outside this year, and they did phenomenal.

I have 5-6 of them going. Had to top one of my 2 males (1sure, 1 presumed) to keep him from prematurely ejaculating. Will try to grab pics of all the siblings these next few days.

Here are my 6 Cherry Brandy Auto’s from @Sebring

They are all in 1gallon square pots, which I intend to keep them in start to finish.

The 4 on the left are (presumed) females, the 2 on the right are definitely males, and the males were both topped to delay their pollen drop.

Here is a close up on the most interesting of the females. For whatever reason this plant “self topped” at the 2ed node/set of true leaves and branched into 4 stems. One stem is bigger than the rest, 2 are medium, one is small. I find it interesting that not only did the plant self-top, but that it then grew 4 branches as opposed to the 2 you would normally see…

Interestingly I do not see any signs of pistils on the “females” yet, while the males showed their sex a week or 2 ago…

These are all from seed that I started soaking on 9/8/21, so they are all 56 days old (from the day the seeds got introduced to water)

I still have yet to get pics of my plants, which they look like complete shit compared to you guys. I honestly didnt pay much attention to them when they were outside, so they were def rootbound and prolly begging for nutrients. They are small and not much, and it got real cold here in michigan before I put them in the tent and I can tell they arent too happy, but they should bounce back soon.
