Yah autos usually sex earlier than photo period plants. I’d bin the males and at least try and grow out the females. It’s a learning experience!

I’ll do that.

Took them out of tent.

One of four is a female I think. I can see a hair at the bract.

I will recycle the soil . Shouldn’t be too much root development

So my friends …

I am coming up on “harvest”

I have just recently been Sharing my gardening hobby/passion with my parents - father most notably.

I never really discussed it with them and sort of kept it private as my past substance abuse problems created big issues to me and effected my life for 15-20 years and after finally cleaning myself and up - I sort of kept the topic of any substance use at bay …I don’t mean to lump cannabis in with other abusable substances.

Anyway - dad loves the whole marijuana growing thing and enjoyed his tokes back in the day. He is retired now almost 10 years . Cannabis legal and all that.

So we have been having more comfortable conversations and im hearing some stories I never knew about my parents + from them.

I share everything I learn here and speak about the O.G. secret Santa when They ask where I get the seeds LOL among other things. They are surprised with my hobby and it’s pretty cool.

I think where he was a full time professional and family man and Cannabis was illegal - his interest was never visible or spoken about - but he is clearly interested and amazed by it all now .

He was over a couple months back when I had 10 plants in veg and they were pretty impressed.

So! I told him to come over again before the harvest to check out the plants.

He wants to come over for “the harvest" now lol

I want to make his visit for “the harvest" a great experience - he’s done alot for me(to say the least) and I want to make a fun little day out of it.

I don’t want to over complicate it - as it is a bit - if get into detail about trichome maturity / hang dry / wet trim / cure. Lol

What do you folks think I can do to share a harvest day with my father ?

I know he’ll just be happy to spend some time together.

I don’t want to involve any of the streneous stuff like trim JaIL LOL

I was thinking just chop some branches - cut some fan leafs . Manicure a couple bigger buds… maybe tie a few up to dry

Any of you guys have experiences of Sharing a harvest day with someone ?

Thanks it means alot to me

I’m very glad to hear it.

A little bonding while trimming might be nice. But not too much trimming.

LOL

Yes - not alot of trimming -

I explained why there was so many in the tent his last visit - when he asked what i was going to do with All of it (lol) that they hadnt been sexed yet so half could be males

And he recounted a story of visiting his friends place who grew - many moons ago and there was a line up of hacked down plants that were all “males” .

I’m trying to create an ideal “Harvest day” list of activities

I know now after growing myself that it’s tough to really consider a single day a harvest day .

You could do some kind of educational seminar. Degree of ripeness, use the microscope together to determine trichome changes, the next step etc.

That’s so cool brother…
Enjoy the day and share it with us :heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Aw , thanks man!

I will def share the experience!

I’m sure I will get some pictures as he loves being the photographer - even though i rarely see any of the millions of photos he takes with his iPad LOL he protests he has them all backed up on drives lol

I’m sure I’ll think of some natural and all organic plans for the day… . .ive learned a lot over the past 16 months growing myself , I don’t want to bore him to death. Hahahah maybe I’ll let him try rolling a few joint , and give him a big fan leaf I’ve dried in book lol …

I also suggested he take a few plants for the back yard , lol he mentioned that when my mom was younger and courting another man who had a big grow op - she found out she was allergic to it after stepping into the barn where it was all drying & and rolling around near it !!! LOL

But he sounded enthused about a few plants. He Already suggested a spot for them LOL Not too close too where mom sits in the garden that’s all :joy:

I always start with “Bear with me. I’m going to nerd out on you for a second.”

Doesn’t work. They still get bored.

@ShitSeeds
Blurry nut butter ripening up. Early flower too. Caught up with my Indicas even a week slow

Great genetics . I think I had 3 seeds and got 2/3 females.

I will be keeping a eye on your other genetics for sure . I am afraid to even smoke this LOL

Not the best photos. IRL it looks bananas. Gonna snag a few pics with better camera later

Daaaaamn! That is a fantastic job you did over there. Look at those colours. She’s a pretty girl.

I love that colour switch she does, starting slow and then poppin’ off at the end. Did you find the same thing?
How many days was it? Did you happen to count?

Edit: I’m stealing those photos lol

I’ve been using o.g. as my official logbook.

Looks like Feb 1st I planted them in cups

I veg pretty slow in winter due to cold basement.

They started showing sex around 27 days

Looks like I flipped the light schedule for the BNB March 10th I believe . So 57 days now.

I did one defoliation about 3 weeks into flower.

She really started packing on the trichomes 30 days into flower. She also had some psychedelic colours /blueish/purple and resinous early on
.
The colours really began popping off Just in the last 6-9 days .

I wish I had better camera :sob: the IRL view is out of this world !

Every thing on to 2/3 looks like its ready to chop

It’s all genetics for this one ! Never Had a hitch all the way through. Huge healthy fan leaves All through veg never showed any signs of stress from feed ( REMO NUTRIENTS ). Also did bi weekly Gaia 4-4-4 top feeds if I was to lazy to mix liquid nutes

I even had her in the corner of the flower tent away from main light for the first 3 weeks!! Then I seen how She was doing and I put a light on-top of her!

Doing a soil flush …

On three 60+ day Indicas.

Kept running 4l of water through an testing the ppms until finally hit 100

The plastic Pot wasn’t too bad…I don’t have a crate so the fabric post were just sitting in the pan.

So I just decided to flip the pan and sit fabric pot on it for a few dozen litres lol

The I’ll check periodically the run off.

I’m done with these plants lol the tops are gettn lopped might leave Lowe’rs or just keep for some Hash run or tincture. Or just freeze.

I’d say il run them until they dry out then it’s chop

It’s gonna get humid in that tent lol
