I’m really bad at describing smells, but I definitely pick up some fruity notes in them—I just can’t tell exactly what it is! Both gf x bb #1 and #2 have a similar scent, like a sweet tropical smell, but #2 sometimes has a slight sour note in the background—really subtle, but it’s there! #2 is my favorite, both in looks and aroma. It’s prettier, frostier, has more complex smells, and the scent is more exotic than #1.

Mentalblox(Mental Floss x Blockhead) - Chimera Seeds:
Almost 4 weeks since it was put in the water.
I’m using PlantProd 7-11-27 and calcium nitrate, around 300ppm.

Man your really showing out nice job. Youll love that mental floss hybrid. Chimera genetics are so unique looking, true headstash. I would hoard all that lol. Gf x bb looks killer too, the ones i grew were a rainbow at harvest. Literally every color of the spectrum. Awesome plants i bet that mf x bh will come out really crazy looking too.
On that incense jack more sharp jack smell or more haze incense? I know youll be smoking good this fall my friend.

Bro, the plan is to make F2s of everything I can and do some crosses to try and keep the genetics around here. I’m really loving the GF x BB—both of the ones I grew here seem amazing, the aromas are incredible, sweet, fruity, and changing every week. The GF x BB #2 that I harvested this week, in the last few days, really smelled like berries—I was impressed, haha.
As for the Incense Haze, I gotta be honest with you, it doesn’t have much smell, but I do get a smoky scent—kinda weird, right? Nothing fruity, herbal, or spicy. But I have her cloned here, and I’m gonna give her another shot. I messed up with her this first round; she was starving. She’s a heavy feeder, and I didn’t give her enough food. All the other plants in flower were good with 1200ppm (2.4 EC), but she showed deficiencies in the first weeks. So next round, I think I’ll try 1700-1800ppm and keep nitrogen high in the first weeks since I noticed she stretches quite a bit.
Plus, my light is underpowered. I’m only running 240W LED in a 1.2m x 1.2m space, where I should at least have 480W. Anyway, little by little, we’re fixing things.

Mmm could be a plant that doesnt smell until it cures good. When you take a sample report back the results im curious about that one. It sure looks nice though eitherway. Funny my haze is doing the same, very pale green.

I’ve found that “Smoky” scent and taste in Colombian Red and the A5 is Colombian dominant Haze where C5 is Thai dominant so I’m not sure the pedigree on Incense Haze, but it would make sense.
Ive also encountered that smokey smell in a couple plants over the years. Interesting but not my favorite. Grew a durban thai from bg that had that profile.

Sounds like the jack isnt good then. He says his doesnt have much smell, yours wasnt good either. Mmm ill steer clear of his jack herer stuff then. Didnt care for my bros grimm jack stuff either lol.

I’ve found a couple really cool plants in the IH x Jack. Wish I’d made a few more seeds with a couple.
I’m getting close on the Dom x BH. Couple more weeks. Getting incredible BH/bubblegum/cotton candy kind of smells. The #1 and #2 are really addictive. Can’t keep my fingers off of them. #4 is just a weaker #1. #3 is quite leafy and #5 is unique among the whole batch. Doesn’t smell like a hash plant, doesn’t smell like BH. But it does smell good. I made seeds with all of them off the lone male that produced pollen.
I’m getting ready to reset the whole veg tent and get a winter crop ready. We’re going to run a bunch of Hawaiian Spice and a bunch of whichever Schnazz is the winner.
Then I think it’s time to look at some older seeds for regeneration, again. Maybe a batch of ancestral skunk, maybe some Highland BB, maybe another whack at Khmer Gold or Luang Prabang. I’ve also got a pack of C4 that is quite old but might still have life, yet.

Nice brother havent seen the “the dom” around in a long long time. Sounds lovely i love cotton candy terps, very prevalent in alot of sweet tooth phenos.

That Dom x BH looks pretty interesting, but I’m really excited to see those Hawaiian Spice and Schnazz flowering! Rooting for you to get that C4 pack to germinate.
I hope Breeders Retail starts up again soon, I need to get my hands on some packs. I’m after the Incense Haze x Sweet Skunk and Warlock x Blockhead.

Schnazz #4 (Dom x BH)
Chopped and drying. #2 & #5 really speak to me in the grow and smell departments. I found a touch of botrytis on some of these and throughout the garden. Everything needs to be cleaned, sanitized, and reset. And while I’m at it I need to invest in some better environment controls/light and some preventatives. This old apartment is just too musty sometimes.
