The Declaration of Independence, which officially broke all political ties between the American colonies and Great Britain, set forth the ideas and principles behind a just and fair government, and the Constitution outlined how this government would function. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

The Declaration of Independence has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on constitutional rights and was more or less a precursor to the Articles of Confederation, which was superceded by the Constitution as a legally binding document. They are not āGod givenā. They are simply rights that exist and are protected from governmental interference by the constitution. This site is a private entity and no such rights exist here beyond what the owners of the site say exist.

We have decided as community to avoid political, religious, racist or any theme that may bring quarrels between us members. Anyone that has been in this forum enough time will know the Shark Tank and Trump wars for example, that supposed āfreedom of speechā was a āfreedom of insultingā and I was surprised watching certain members attitudes and Iām afraid connivences among some members supposed to maintain order.
Those dark times for convivence are the past, we decided as community to leave them behind, so as itās been already said thereās no use of questioning it. I am my own censor while writing here, that means I donāt need to be censored by anyone, even if sometimes I am too close to the borderline.

I never took my mothers advice āif you canāt say something nice then donāt say anything at allā and itās got me into a lot of trouble in the past. Freedom of speech is only free until someone is offended by your statements. Personally if I think someone is being a c#nt I straight out call them a c#nt. If they donāt like it f#ck them. Iām not gonna loose sleep over someone being offended by a few of my words.

We all agreed to a āterms of serviceā when we sign up to use any service that BELONGS to someone else.
What you are NOT free from is repercussions for what you say on someone elseās platform.

Not arguing any of that. Just what free speech is, and that I have a right to it, Iām not saying I can say whatever i want to on privately owned servers, or even on someone elseās private property. I also stated earlier that I believe freedom of speech also includes responsibility and repercussions, you are free to say what you want and you are free to deal with the ramifications of doing so. Thatās all Iāve been saying the entire time.

I missed when we cancelled having a backbone, a sense of humour, and the ability to laugh at ourselves. I donāt know if its just my age, but it is getting so that most of what our adult family talks about, isnāt āappropriateā or āoffendsā somethey. Bit by bit our ability to āexpress ourselves freelyā gets chipped away, by some tangent, or knee-jerk reaction to basically poor management and lack of foresight. Then comes censorship using the ābad appleā theory, so we all end up being owned (like this site) and singing to someone elses EVER-CHANGING rules (see: law, rights, societal obligations ,BULLSHIT). Just how things go when we let LAWYERS determine our rights.
This is not a slighting of OG as it IS private and their rules are available, ever-changing as they may be, we agree to them.

Yep totally. Me being offended by someonesā words would be my problem, and one of the things about freedom is that people are free to do things that piss others off. I do possess the superpower of whining about anything, but I try to use it for good LMAO
