COBs with integrated drivers? + Other on-the-cheap ideas

I have collected some info here and there on these, my personal verdict? They suck.

Lol… I had bought a few of those DOBs from a new supplier with a different design for $2 to play with. They are pretty neat but only 80 lumens per watt. I bought it because it claims to Target the 450-455 nm lspectrum range which I thought was pretty neat. That seems pretty targeted. It pulls a true 50 w from the wall which was a surprise from past dabblings with the ultra cheapo “grow” cobs from China. The supplier claims the diodes are bridgelux. So, just an update. These “50w” driverless cobs, SUCK. I grew an auto in my little 1x1x2 cab, with this as the sole light source. I’ve never seen such fluffy buds. I think a flood lamp could grow better buds than this could. I bet 4 of the 9w screw ins could grow better than one of these. They run really hot, need active cooling, and make your camera do the “degauss” type effect. In short, don’t use em. sure, they were only like 10 bucks, but not worth it. [image]
