That sucks. My wife had a similar operation.
I just had two epidural injections yesterday for a herniated disk. Hoping to avoid surgery. 
I refused the shots as they are painful. Than only hide the pain and you cause more damage. That is how I tore the partial tear all the way as I was on pain meds for the first total tear

Yeah, I’m fricken sore from the shots. Back feels a little better. But my leg has a major improvement. The herniation is pushing on a major nerve in for right leg, and doing some weird things. And yes I fear that I’m just prolonging the inevitable.
