Wow, are those all F1’s on that pack?

Did Snow contribute those to the cause?

I bought them at a discount but he more than hooked it up as you can see! @Wuachuma

It’s honestly one of the most awe inspiring things I’ve seen on this site. Back in the day when those were fresh that would be what, $10k in seeds? John is really a great preservationist for sending a bag like that, incredible stuff man, and good luck! I’m super interested in this one

Maybe I’m too high but are we aware of the general consensus on F2ing & distribution/profiteering? Just making sure we’re not shedding karma :wave:

If he’s blessed our activities then all good.

@Dirt_Wizard i agree; I think if they were new and assume $200 / pack we’d be looking at $4,600! I got 10% germ rate on the first 30 so not sure if they hold their face value at this point in time, but either way it’s a lot of beans and more than generous.

@cannabissequoia I certainly don’t want to be unethical in anyway so I am double checking direct with John, but to be clear I have no intent of “profiteering”. This was intended as a donation of my time and seeds I purchased from an old / discontinued line so it can be kept around a bit longer and enjoyed with this great community.

Please let me know if I missed anything but I will double check with John direct.

For now - they were voted on in the co-op, they are discontinued / old lines not being actively sold, and I saw that they were previously blessed by John as part of the FBSC for preservation.

Since I had them in my stash I decided to run mine rather than ask fbsc for theirs. I also told John I was f2’ing which is what lead to me buying another pack even though they were off menu and not being sold.

I had reached out to check his new menu and mentioned germ rates and my intent to f2, and asked if I could pay shipping for some replacements on old lines I had trouble with. he said they were removed from menu and no longer for sale because of lower germ rates. After discussing further he offered to sell me a pack so I could try to find more for f2, even though not currently on the menu. I paid a discounted rate and he sent that big pack thanking me for my patience.

Sorry for the long reply but I want to be clear on my intentions - just to share and preserve not profit.

I am admittedly new to the seed run side of things so I am open to feedback and appreciate the extra set of eyes in making sure everything is done respectfully.

I think the reasons above should be enough to clear up any doubt and I’ll be happy to pull the plug if John gets back to me asking me not to continue. In the meantime I’m going to keep plugging along and get crack’n.

Hope you get a better germination rate for these! :crossed_fingers: for the numbers your looking for.
Looking forward to seeing your different germination experience

It’s all good - sorry for my long winded reply, I just want to make sure everything is clear and good to go.

Congrats on getting this run certified as a co-op. Distributing via the co-op system is the way to go!

Talk about reinforcements, holy cow! Even getting <10% germ you should have plenty of seedlings to work with! Still, hopefully some of the advanced seed sprouting teks (worm castings, H2O2, seed sprout tea, humic/fulvic acid, etc…) help bump that % up!

@Elpolloloco I seem to remember you being involved in some way with a “Free The V” seed expansion. Am I mis-remembering? How did that project go?

Got my eyes extra peeled :eye: :eyes: ! Watching and waiting for that wiki to go live!

John is very aware of what we do here, and into it. He’s always said reproduce and share with his landraces, and his progressive illness seems to have extended that feeling to his hybrids, as he hasn’t been refreshing stock fast enough to keep many lines viable without help from the community.

Thank you; He sent the Calvary indeed!

I too hope I get to improve my seed germ game as part of this project, but either way there are plenty!

Free the V… sounds cool but I wasn’t involved. I’ve just done a couple small increases and pollen chucks up until this point but nothing formal on OG.

Thanks DW!
That was my understanding as well.

Sorry for my short novel but just want to lay it out there and do the right thing, and I think the right thing is preserving these beauties and sharing.

You’re doing great work, this is a banger of an old hybrid that I can’t wait to sort through the F2s of in the future, and see what kind of BX work folks end up doing with it since we have a Metal Haze preservation from Bodhi, also the Acapulco Gold from him/Woodstock, and good C99 from FDM as readily available options.

Big time props for doing this run @Elpolloloco . Can’t WAIT to go through these myself someday!

Yes out of any hybrid this lineage gets me most excited for some reason; I’ve been looking for metal haze for similar reasons, it would be great to back cross into it and I just love haze / haze hybrids in general.

C99 was all the rage when I used to lurk back in early 2000’s - sativa high without the flower time and pineapple… what’s not to like?

Acapulco gold - well things don’t become legends for no reason…

Im excited to explore these and hopefully keep a few cuts going to run outdoors next year as sinsemilla to get the best of both - seeds and buds!

That was the most flavorful (ElMasSabroso) not the crazy chicken (ElPolloLoco)

Hi Everyone,

Work, life, holidays ect had me on a holding pattern but it’s time to get busy with this seed run. As eager as I was to get started, I’m glad I waited until now so I can give my full attention so here is a quick update with more to follow.

I have seeds soaking and I’m working on specific game-plan of how to disperse the germination efforts to both diversify my odds, and hopefully give me (and others) some more info on different germination methods and their results.

This is not a scientific method by any means but I’ll try to keep the variables as similar as possible, despite a relatively small sample size for each method.

So far I have 4 soaking solutions, and 3-4 seed prep methods for each solution.

Soaking solutions-

  1. Ful-power Humic acid solution - 10 ml to one liter rain water per bottle I structuons

  2. H202 and rain water - 1 Tbsp to 1 cup rain water

  3. 50/50 H202 to rain water

Germ methods I will use after 12 hour soak with exception of the last one

  1. Soil - happy frog that I will steam or sterilize in microwave, then cover with plastic or done until sprouted

  2. On top of worm castings, then will transfer to soil once sprouted

  3. Paper towel to soil - John’s latest suggestion of 3 days in towels on a heat pad, then to sterilized soil

  4. Rapid rooters or jiffy pots - I may try a few of these just for fun

The plan is to put some seeds from each soaking solution I to each germination method and see how she goes.

The three that are vegging are outgrowing their solo cups and going to get fim’d and transfer this evening or tomorrow.

Stem rubs - while not a Tell all - are some of the best smelling that I can remember, possibly ever. Dank pineapple is what comes to mind.

One good problem I may run into is if I get too many to sprout, I will be flowering both on my patio and in the tent.

For those experience seed producers - what is the most efficient training method you’ve used in terms of seed production in a small area?

Cheers!
