Yep, she has a way of bringing me back to earth pretty quickly…
Yeah white widows grow to some awesome sizes God help you if you try to train and control her as she just turns it around and bites you on the ass
This is the same thing I always get when growing the widow. It doesn’t matter if it’s photo or auto. I just ignore it and growth wasn’t effected.
Grabbin the with my amateur hour…
I say light-burn on those leaves.
And the wifey is correct about the grinder, but not the trimmer.
Some plants are just skinny like that. One of my Ultraviolet girls (#1) did that.
If this is the case, the variance between different phenos of this NYSD auto is quite wide… Good smoke, but to quote Forrest Gump “like a box of chocolates”
Maybe? I dunno - put my hand up there to feel what the canopy feels. Arm got tired after a while. I should really make it to the gym more. There is a bitching air-cooled hood with a variable speed 8" fan driving the exhaust off a thermostat. I would say about 5-8" from the highest tops to the glass? If it is in fact light burn, not much I can do. Height is pretty much maxed on the fixture, and the branches are already hella woody, so bending them will suck… I could remove my collection rez and put pots on the ground, but that would be unbelievably impractical to water.
This is the distance from hood to plant. Fan is 6"
In other news, the WW perked right up after the flush, leaves look happier and greener. Note to self: more runoff, less lazy. I ordered myself a Dramm watering wand. Will mix a 10-gallon pail and use my pump to run the wand. Tired of watering by hand with a spilly-ass kids watering can.
Close up of monster WW after the flush:
@Esrgood4u; here is what it’s taken so far to get that WW to somewhat comply… She’s a real challenge
And that flopped-over-twice top is still the strongest meanest bud
Cheers,
HH
Yeah white widow can take some stick and doesn’t bat an eyelid to it.
This is my current white widow.
See similar rust spots on the leaf same as you
WW is an unruly gal, you gotta have a strong pimp hand to keep her in check, This was my run with her…
What a great thread with details! Looking good
Haha she certainly seems to have enjoyed the bondage you inflicted on her
I LOOOOOOVE my Dramm aerator. Can put 60psi/15GPM(225gph) through that @$%er & it still doesn’t blast away the soil like a hose does… Best little piece of plastic I’ve bought!
As for the light/leaf-burn… I see your point about the distance being allright. One thing I’ve noticed is leaf-burn can happen more easily following transplanting…(not just because they’re ‘taller’ )…as if they’re really sensitive until they settle in. Another thing I’ve considered about the burning in small spaces is that we don’t see infrared but the plants sure do. With all that reflectivity I wonder about the “heat” from IR but dunno… Clearly other folks aren’t roasting theirs…
Thanks @Roux!
Wow, you sure beat that one down, pretty compact plant. I need to take some lessons from you
Thanks for posting those pics @Esrgood4u; totally normalizes my experience
I was just saying how I need a dramm wand to my son earlier tonight as I was on my knees on concrete trying to water through a jungle with a damn kids water can!
One of the reasons I love my Capin concrete sprayer.
Dramm wand arrived! But the sonnamabitch didn’t come with a tip. The picture showed a tip… sigh. I guess i’ll buy a tip, but so far works OK even without, i’m just running a little pond pump through the hoze so no big deal.
Plants are growing. WWs still have those weird spots on them, but bud development looks to be progressing normally, and most of the leaves are OK. Fed today with about EC1.6. pH to 5.8 Finally ran out of Big Bud; now to run out of Massive

And the only “normal” plant I have on this go-round:

I just bought one of those pressurized sprayers at the local hardware store today. It’s a cheap hunk of plastic, but it came with a wand, and an adjustable nozzle. It is definitely an improvement. By the way those girls are looking pretty good to me, even the “normal” one lol!
The aerating head/tip threads on/off, costs about 8$usd and I was able to get one locally; try the pricier gardening shops in your area(if they exist), or a good hardware store.
I use one for misting/feeding my clones all the time, they are pretty awesome. The dramm feeds the 30 gal of coco pots I have too, so gotta run at least 7-8 hal through every time. Need a pump
I tried and couldn’t. Amazon to the rescue, delivered in less than 24 hrs. Works like a dream. Now I see why you said you LOOOOVE the dramm wand
I think the NYSDs are about a week away from chop. WWs have a ways to go.
Ran out of MC
Feeding them FloraNova as base, Massive as bloom booster, Bud Factor X for magsulf, to a total of about EC1.8
