Is big bud even around anymore? It was a nice plant from my limited experience

after the scbb for breeding 100%, never heard any one say she is graveyard bud. i want her for her bud size and plant frame, “IF” i get a pack i will be breeding her to some really nice pieces i have over here for-sure.

Big Bud is one of the most unstable hybrids I’ve ever worked with. It’s all over the place after F2. I found some plants that barely make a bud once you finish trimming the leaves off and then some with the biggest densest buds I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s going to take some patience and growing out large numbers to make it practical to grow. Even the original catalogs says only 1 in 4 plants is a keeper. After F2 it’s more like 1 in 20 is what we’re looking for.
Most BB now is bred to the sativa side like Critical mass, BC big bud, and Salmon creek. In my opinion the more Indica leaning BB is the best but it’s also more unstable to work with.

thanks brother for the insight, ya when i did the bb i was not very happy with it and you know that seeing i have not went back to her in all this time. like the scbb i was just looking for something to breed with from her.
will look at the scbb if i can get a pack in hand …

It’s been said that the SCBB was from a 90 plant count pheno hunt so it is more stable than the other BB

Some people say it’s a clone only but I bought regular seeds of it in 2002 in Canada. And now Copa has a pure regular seed line going? The cut was a little better than the seeds but very similar. It will be interesting to see how the seeds from copa turn out

It sounds like this is an open pollination from the few remaining seeds that were available. Doesn’t sound like there was much selection just an increase for future projects and a few packs for sale.
