I find it funny people think the death count is being exaggerated. The world wide death count is way understated. So many more have died. Equador, India, China, Iran, North Korea, Russia none of these countries are going to release any reliable data.
With 10k confirmed cases in Africa, I believe the global death toll is going to be in the millions maybe even as high as 100 million by the time this thing is done.
This sorta speaks to the virus simply going away with the warm weather and higher humidity…(cases in Singapore have soared in the warm and humid weather)
NY has said that people who die before getting tested aren’t counted. Anyone “suspected” of having died isn’t counted, only people who tested positive while they were alive.
They also said the number of people dying in their homes has gone up from like 30 per day to 250-300.

Yeah man. Reports the same as this in Italy and China were the same. People dying in home and not being counted. Bodies left for days in certain cases before they could be removed.
I hope they can find something but I don’t think they are going to find a safe vaccine anytime soon. No Coronovirus has a vaccine.

I went to the hardware store for paint today and couldn’t. I could buy sockets, nails, grass seed (but not fertilizer), lighting fixtures, lumber, houseplants, a damn lawnmower but nooooo paint. Which is especially frustrating because I have unlimited time to get some shit around the house done.

US military general in a press conference 2 days ago said they looked all of the facts and concluded the virus was natural. But they weren’t conclusive.
Nothing concrete but tucker Carlson did an episode tonight claiming government sources have now confirmed a lab tech at the level 4 bio lab was infected and passed the virus to his girl friend. No bat or animal involved. Waiting on more info other than tucker obviously but it might start being suggested more.
@Mongobongo I am willing to admit escaped from the lab is a POSSIBILITY, I just don’t see anything concrete that points it being manmade. That being said, if China did fuck up and accidentally release it there’s no way they’d admit to it. However, geopolitical interests dictate China’s rivals would LOVE to blame this thing on the Chinese. Trump attempted to specifically by referring to it as the China disease. I think it stands to reason that if the USA had anything concrete on this being Chinese shenanigans, they’d run it the entire 24 hr news cycle.
For fun, let’s assume it IS manmade and ALSO wasn’t an accidental release, the only thing that makes a lick of sense to me is a really specific scenario, purely spitballing here but it’s fun to run scenarios. HEar me out:
China engineers a virus that will kill 2-5-ish% of the world, mostly elderly. Enough to cause absolute pandemonium not enough to do any actual damage. Idea being that China can take the population hit no problem, and has an iron grip on media and no pesky Constitution or notions of human rights. China can quell any protest or panic because they are willing to do anything and have no one to answer to. China also has somewhat of a command economy, they are not beholden to Chinese Wall Street.
So, this virus spreads worldwide, but the primary purpose isn’t to kill citizens of other nations, the purpose is to incite panic and damage nations economically. We don’t fight China in the trenches, warfare now is done in espionage, economics, proxy wars, disinformation, sabotage, etc. Collapsing the economies of one’s competitors is the ONLY way China can secure its position on top. It’s how the US mostly won the Cold War. China could make a number of savvy choices in the chaos, they have money, infinite manufacturing capability, etc. If you are the only strong orderly nation with amidst 190 others in disarray you can pretty much stack the geopolitical deck in your favor as you see fit.
Other than $15 checks on my birthday from grandma and that one time I found a $50 bill, I’ve never gotten free money before, and there’s MORE coming! I am gonna replace my furnace with the stimulus. If I was just working normally I was gonna wait until Fall to do it. This is bananas. I do alright because I’m frugal, work hard, and live modestly but I’m by no means rich. I bought name brand Tide for the first time today, is this what opulence feels like haha?
However, I did have to give uncle sam 2K in extra taxes this year, so…I’ll consider it my getting my got-dang money back…with interest lol.
