Exxon mobile researched climate change well before it was a controversy. Guess what they found out⌠It was happening and it was caused by man. Then they buried the research, because of the obvious negative impacts to their business. Then they and the Koch brothers hatched up a bunch of anti-climate science propaganda. But itâs scientists, who make shit money for the amount of time and energy they invest that are all in cahoots, and not the billionaires who hide information that disrupts their business?
Scientists donât get into science for political reasons. Scientists generally work their asses off in school and accept lower pay than engineers who receive higher pay at a bachelors level. Scientists are liberals and conservatives, but at some point, the conservative scientists get sick of people who donât have the first clue about their work, acting like they understand it in 5 minutes and then politicizing it.
You want to talk about elitism, sit your ass back down in your armchair and fill your head with garbage from the tube and then tell someone who spends their whole life researching and studying 1 thing that you know better than them. Thatâs fucked man. But I guess we are now all certified to waltz into each otherâs jobs and tell each other theyâre doing it wrong and with the most basic, cursory knowledge of what the fuck they do.
I donât care if you disagree about what we should do about climate change. THATâs a political topic. But if you think that climate scientists are involved in some vast conspiracy that doesnât even benefit them, youâve got your head on backwards. You want to say âfollow the moneyâ and then you ignore the money when it doesnât fit your desired outcome, youâve got your head on backwards.

Itâs a bit silly that you try to paint yourself as a skeptic when you are so clearly trapped in a 2 dimensional narrative of good vs evil. You arenât skeptical, youâre just tribal. You donât recognize the bullshit in your own tribe and you see things as if there are only 2 sides. You canât be an independent thinker when you pledge your allegiance to one side or the other.
