Coronavirus Facts and Fiction - January - May 2020 [Closed]

All of these closed environments are breeding grounds for this virus.

From ZH

Summary: The Diamond Princess cruise ship is the largest controlled COVID-19 coronavirus infected population outside of China

  • 20% of the ship were infected over three weeks
  • From this, it suggests the rate of official reported infections (largely in China) is likely too low
  • This corroborates well with what our models have been saying: official reported infections are likely too low
  • From our models, far more people have likely been infected, but the death rate is also (thankfully) coming in lower than expected – worse than the flu, but perhaps in-line or lower than SARS, and definitely not a death sentence
  • Two passengers died last night from the Diamond Princess (male 87 and female 84) after being airlifted from the ship to a hospital a week ago, which implies a 1-2% death rate
  • And 14 days might not be long enough to conclusively prevent COVID-19 transmission, from the Diamond Princess experience, although passengers have now been released

The rate of Diamond Princess infections suggest worldwide infections are likely much higher than official reports

  • From the log scale chart below, the rate of Diamond Princess infections is much higher than infections suggested by official data (on log charts, lines with the same slope have the same growth rates)
  • Additionally, the Diamond Princess growth is very stable along the growth line versus the official data which doesn’t seem to follow a growth trend
  • Extending the fitted Diamond Princess line back to Patient Zero shows the first patient likely occurred on 21 January 2020 – in very good agreement with the actual assumed Patient Zero arriving on the cruise on the afternoon of 20 January
  • There is a slight possibility that massive quarantines in Hubei and China overall have dramatically slowed the infections rate, but we believe other possibilities are more likely

If weather is a factor here is the weather in Daegu, S.Korea last week, a bit of a roller coaster but definitely early spring temps.

From Iran

“Based on existing reports, the spread of the coronavirus started in Qom and with attention to people’s travels has now reached several cities in the country, including Tehran, Babol, Arak, Isfahan, Rasht and other cities. And it is possible that it exists in all cities in Iran," Health Ministry official Minou Mohrez said Friday, Reuters reported, citing the country’s official IRNA news agency.”

Nope. That’s common misconception.

If you wish to disinfect your hands, first one should wash hands with soap. Dry. Then wash with alcohol. Let air dry.

Not just any kind of alcohol, 70% is the best why?

In the case of 90% the higher content of alcohol dehydrates the bacteria, but in some cases it won’t kill it.

The 70% has higher water content. Water can enter and exit bacteria’s cell walls with ease. At this ratio of water the alcohol can actually penetrate the bacteria membrane, destroying it’s DNA and making it impossible for it to multiply.

You can buy 96% alcohol and add water.

Grab 70ml of 96% alcohol and add water until you achieve 100ml of volume. That’s it. If you must be precise you need and alcohol meter.

Now you have a safe powerful germicide.

No one considering, treating themselves and their environment like they do their plants and grow environment.

When you sterilize an area you are making it an open invitation to any bacteria to set up, if you use a friendly bacteria like LABs every where, it uses all available space to propogate, leaving no room for other bacteria to accumulate and over whelm beneficial bacteria. Same thing happens in your gut, and on your plants, if you surface spray your plants, it stops PM from getting a foothold, by creating the wrong environment for it to survive long enough to become a problem.

That’s why it’s important to wash your hands regularly.

I was only trying to correct a misconception about alcohol. I only learnt this fact recently. I was always under the impression that the higher the concentration of alcohol the better.

Anyway hope it comes in handy. (Pun intended)

Sounds similar to how Osmosis works

There is no way to stop the spread only slow it down
while them find a vaccine or cure for it.

Compounded with what you already explained, is the fact that 70% alcohol evaporates from the skin much more slowly than 90%+ alcohol. All these factors combined makes 70% the ideal killer.

If this virus can re infect a person after they have had it once, I dont understand how a vaccine will help. Getting Wuflu and recovering from it, is the same as taking a vaccine, the only difference is a vaccine has a smaller amount of virus in it, mixed with toxic immune suppressants.

Yeh I thought the same thing, more the better for killing bacteria, so that’s good to know. I dont use alcohol for sterilizing my hands, only my stomach and liver, I will have to switch to 70% moonshine instead of 90% followed by a LABs chaser lol.

Concerning numbers coming in from Iran. 18 confirmed cases and 4 of those have died.

WHO (the joke that it is) has now done a complete 360 from everything being peachy to… things are very worrisome

South Korea reports virus is spreading in the prison systems now.
I am wondering if this Virus, since it has been around before December last year , could be being transmitted into other Countries via the delievery systems for packages and alike . They are guessing it may live a long time on surfaces now. I thought I heard 28days or more.
I just received a tool from China yesterday
