I really like linen. I think it’s my favourite.

I boil the bast fibers in a mixture of water and washing soda. Then I pound it with a wooden hammer! Get the fiber cards, and go to work! In the end, spin it on the wheel. It’s not like cotton, that’s for sure.


I grew the plants, and produced the fiber.

That is awesome. I had a friend start with wool from the sheep. Go thru to whole wash, card spin and weave on a loom.


You can also do nuts things like this. It’s a little micro macrame.

I had to really search online to discover the part of the plant, that is the fiber for paper or cloth. Then I had to look up how you change the bark into a fiber! Half a cup of washing soda in a huge pot of water. Boil it for 20 min.




There’s the fiber cards in the last photo. You can use it to card the fibers and make roving. Left over crap from when my parents thought they were pioneers. I got the spinning wheel too.
