Good luck @almostdone !!!
Did any of you read the drug companies vax information prior to getting a jab, you would see they say that the vax does not stop you catching it and passing it to others. It just reduces the chances and by the data coming from the UK its about 35% of vaxed people are getting re infected.
If you had it naturally you don’t need to vax, doctors reporting to an international database who contracted sars cov 2 16 months ago are reporting high levels of antibodies and Tand B cells still.
Studies on sars cov 1 from 15 years ago indicate that people who caught that still have full immunity and it will probably be the same for sars cov 2.
It is true that vaccinated people in the UK are still getting covid however last week not one person who died was vaccinated . Every death was an unvaccinated person, that is 100 % .
Or does not have natural immunity.
Yes the good news is the vaccines are still over %80 effective at preventing hospitalization, and even more effective at preventing death from covid. The other good news is that proper mask use is still an effective way to prevent transmission.
If people vaccinate to prevent further loss of life, and individuals continue to take the personal responsibility to either mask up or isolate, we have a solid chance at getting the spread under control.
And once the rate of spread is reduced, we will see fewer new variants occurring. The point is, the larger goals have not changed, and the same tools are still effective.
Sitting here in rural Oklahoma I’m not optimistic about that.
Again… For the last time…
This is not a vax thread…
This is to help console those members suffering from covid currently and keep up with those who have had it.
Get this back on track
@TeamOG @moderators
My daughter is PA and the Son-In-law is a Pharmacist that gave the vaccine. This is a true statement.
Finger crossed the second takes care of this. My thought are with you and wish you better soon.
NOOOOO!!! no bacon shortage… bacon is life!!
That is actually a crazy animal rights thing happening in California that is going to eventually make it very hard for all all hog farmers to sell their hogs without having them being grown under specific conditions … And trust that if you aren’t Elon Musk there’s no way you can do it …
It’s slightly ridiculous and equates to them making it so hard to breed and produce(what I do) the meat we eat daily that it eventually bankrupts the meat farmer so no meat ever makes it to market because it doesn’t meet “standards” …
Look it up…
Also lol not a covid thread topic haha
they’re gonna “F” up my bacon!!!
A few years back I had a neighbor who purchased a cow annually. Housed it somewhere, was grassfed for 2 years, would have it slaughtered and then come back with a few giant 120L coolers full of meat and share with his neighbors. Most amazing beef ever. One year he gets a hog as well. I figure “Well, the beef is 20x better than any store bought, this bacon is just gonna be orgasmic!”
yeah… uhm… no… It looked like bacon. But it smelled like sausage and tasted like sausage. Something not right in the brineing process I was told. Talk about the most incredible let-down ever… He didn’t get bacon again.
But the other pork cuts were amazing just like the beef was. Those pork chops melted in my mouth…
I realize thats not your market @toastyjakes , and its all good. I get my meats at the supermarket like everybody else. I do miss that beef though…
ps. I am more carnivore than veggie guy. I grow the veggies more than I eat them. And I am NOT gonna go vegetarian… Somethings gotta change… and its not gonna be me!
ok back to the covid check in. I am SOOO bad at tangent conversations…
Gonna happen for sure unfortunately! Thank the 6 directions I live in the Midwest! Life without bacon???
It sounds like more rumors and conspiracy theories to me. Just come to Oklahoma and we will find you some pork. If nothing else just shoot a feral hog here
Wife and I are staying put, we never had Covid YET and will do our best to avoid it…
Lost another friend-
He lived a full life, but suffered for a week on a ventilator before covid finally took his life…
I’m sorry for your loss.
Very sorry to hear this, vaportrail.
Rest in peace to your friend.
One of our best friends came down with covid last week.
He was fully vaccinated.
He’s doing ok-ish, but getting hammered with bad symptoms and his blood oxygen is not great. He’s typically pretty healthy, but he does have a minor heart condition he was born with… so we’re worried.
Doctors told him today, if he wasn’t fully vaccinated he would have died days ago. No question.
This shit is serious, and it’s not going away anytime soon.
My friend has come down with COVID, I believe. He is a non-vaccinated. He said he lost his sense of smell and is really sick right now. There’s no satisfaction in telling him, “I told you so” on this occasion at least. I just want him to get better… Sorry for your loss @vaportrail
I can relate-
I know a LOT of anti vaxxers…
I really just don’t understand people sometimes.
