You should be good. His looked way better than mine. And I got just bland weed smells. A buddy of mine and I have only had 2 so it’s not like they are all shit. Just what we found we didn’t like. If it’s got the lemon, then you’re good!

Hey nice looking grows crunchberries! i know it’s been awhile since you discussed getting LABS, but saurkraut is lactofermented. SO, the liquid from the saurkraut could be your LABS source. look at you tube for ways to make it, i recommend using only organic cabbage to get good cultures. The one time i scimped and bought cabbage that wasn’t organic, it fermented, but nowhere near the intense aroma and powerful cultures i always get with organic cabbage; and it took 10 weeks to get what we normally get in 2 weeks with organic cabbage. Plus you will be healthier eating fermented food everyday. Your immune system will thank you. If anyone is interested, PM me and i can give you a great recipe that i use to make saurkraut. making kimchee next.

Morning Ya’ll,
Here is my formal update, as promised.
*10gal diy sip
*ROLS
*Day 3F

Started all plants from seed and everything germed fine, except for the Stardawg Guava x SSDD. Slow to no germ rates, then damped off in soil. I did get one plant to grow, and luckily it is a female. Don’t know what the hell the problem was/is. Maybe my soil, as I used recycled seed soil, but all other seeds/plants were fine. Will start with a bagged seed starter blend or make my own fresh seed starter soil with Peat, EWC and aeration for the next seed pop.

All plants have been healthy and vigorous for the most part throughout the grow, except for when I planted them in their SIP. I overwatered them after planting, but have learned my lesson to only water in just enough to compact the soil around the newly planted babies and no more. Once plants have gotten accustomed and begin showing signs of life, could you start a top watering regimen if that’s your thing. They slowly recovered over about a week and then took off over the Thanksgiving break(when I wasn’t watching as closely). I hope stretch isn’t too drastic, as they may have gotten too large. I recently topped them for a second time, cranked up the QB96’s to 300w, lowered the 315’s, then flipped to 12/12. Will change the light schedule to 11/13 after stretch.

Also, I have been listening to everyone’s styles and top dress schedules and have chosen to minimize the number of top dresses. I would normally topdress 3 times without question. I have top dressed once so far, when I first set up my sip and was letting them get their mojo working. I will most likely top dress one more time after stretch just to be certain that they have enough to snack on for the duration. Shit, maybe I can get away with just one top dress?

Thanks @DesertHeartGardens! So far so good with the new 10gals. I’m liking that I can get in and move them around as they are way more manageable than an EB or those 27gals. Only two sides of my tent are accessible, so being able to reposition and move the sips out to inspect plants is crucial. I’m also going to go scrog-less this go and just stake and tie as needed.
Yep, something about that Cheech Wiz! I wish I had a better photo of it before I topped again. Will definitely have to go back and read through Nube’s preservation again.

Crunch you got any good tech for staking with a shower cap cover? Like on an EB? I’m assuming just punch em through but I’d like to hang onto the same covers as long as I can

Hey bud,
I secured eye screws to all four corners and then went all erector set from there. It worked pretty good. Needs to be secured at the floor to be stable. Most times I just punch through the cap and make sure to use the same hole on successive runs.

Aaah, I see what you did there. Figured as much re: just using the same holes each run, wanted to make sure you didn’t have some kinda crunchy secret that I didn’t know about :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::grin::v:t2::heart:

I had the idea the other night of stretching a shower cap over a board that’s the same size as the EB and using punches to knock out holes for the plant and potentially for the stakes too so there’s like a prescribed spot for everything run after run, not just scissor-cut holes. I have one of those tarp grommet kits that comes with a punch that’s probably the perfect circumference for the bamboo stakes, just need to find a larger one for the plant stalks themselves. And yea, that IS a new level of anal haha

Ha!Ha! Yes! My OCD and ADD keeps me busy! And I’m a Virgo!

They do sell those EB shower caps separate at the EB website. Just fyi.

sometimes i use bail soil like pro mix. i cut the plastic and it fits perfectly over the earthbox. and use a little duck tape. this was before i ordered more EB my first few came used through my uncle so improvised. worked quite welljust made a slash for the plants.

Maybe if you burned the center hole using one of those propane torch attachments or something you can heat up that is the proper circumference. I’ve seen these used by large farms to burn holes in weed tarps and it worked perfectly. Even melted the edges of the tarp so the hole didn’t tear.

oh yea! ive seen that too, might be able to use a dab torch for the job haha

How much water do those hold? Curious about water and soil volumes . I might need to go the DIY a route soon.
