Got FOUR packages of āgoodiesā in route w/Tracking. USPS Site says, āunable to provide that serviceā!! Looks like the personnel inputting info information are on extended vacaā¦wait, I thought all this was Automated!!! Sign of the times, I suppose. ALL, have a pleasant week, continue to stay SUPER safe, take special care and, indeed, be wellā¦mister
I am only getting mail every other day the last two weeks. The postal service is really maxed out it seems.
I got a ground package today that took 10 days. It came in a budget rental truck and canāt figure service used. It took 10 days to get a tracked package that never got scanned between CA and my MI post office. Some automation right?
I sent a tracked PM letter on Monday. It disappeared on Wednesday, somewhere between MKE & DEN. Itās insured, but I may miss out on those scarce beans.
Tracking has been a joke for awhile now, not worth the money. But, not tracking mail never is seen again.
Today I received a packaged that was post marked Oct. 23rd from New Hampshire. Just a bit of a delay.
Wow - now you have the new record. That is absolutely absurd!
ding, ding, you are the winner.
Its been taking about 8-10 days to get things from the west coast and 3 days for east coast which is normally backwards the east coast mail is normally slower getting here
Mailed seeds to people in Canada from canada about a month ago one person at least still hasnāt got them. Mail systems a joke.
Getting bad in usa too:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/03/22/usps-dejoy-plan/
From the article:
USPS chief DeJoy said to cut post office hours, lengthen delivery times in 10-year-plan
The postmaster general is expected to announce his long-awaited strategic initiative, one that is expected to raise prices and diminish delivery standards.
Got a package this past weekend, 6 days to go 15 miles. Wtf. Definitely not getting any better
Shockingly, I had 2 packages take the stated number of days to go from MI to WA, then one of the return packages even took the stated number of days to go from WA to MI. But it definitely sounds like itās going to get worse.
I just received a package yesterday from an OGer in Michigan that was sent over 3 months ago- if youāre waiting on something that seems lost, donāt give up hope!
WOW! maybe I will get a lost one from Jan.
Got another absurd / horror story, compliments of USPS.
As Iāve mentioned in another thread, Iām a Harley owner and collector of rare, obsolete parts. Theyāre expensive, but I have a good reputation and people trust me. A guy wanted to buy a seat and some matching trim for his bike. The cost: $2700. He sent me a check via USPS Priority Express (guaranteed 2 days or itās free). This is where the story took a leftā¦
That Priority Express envelope should have arrived on Saturday. It didnāt. In fact, on Saturday night, the tracking number showed that it had not left the state in which it began its thousand mile journey on Thursday. The package required a signature, so it looked like the soonest it would arrive would be Monday when the local post office was open again. Nope! I checked the tracking Sunday morning and it was delivered to a passport office 100 miles away from me - signed for and released!! HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!?! I mean, my address is on the envelope and not one aspect of my address is similar to the address where it was delivered. AND, the person who signed for it was clearly not me, as seen by their signature and hand written name. AND, what the actual fuck is the post office doing delivering a package at 5:30 on a Sunday morning?!?!
Damn I hope you had it insuredā¦
I was the receiver, but Priority Express envelopes come with $100 free insurance, which would cover the stop-payment on the check. But the envelope did end up in my hands yesterday, unopened.
Good to hear it ended in your hand unopened. Hope you didnāt already put a stop payment on it.
I alerted the sender and he put a stop payment on it. Now heās trying to see if he can get it lifted.
