I know why I stay will with HID lighting

pick a bulb for your ballast plug it in grow weed

I will more than likely build just what @Guitarzan did

for my first go round with the LEDs if not I will be staying with what I have

parts are a round 300 bucks but some of the stuff I have at our plant

I have read so many things and probably know less than when I start reading

I do love how vendors will sell a light that draws 100 watts at the wall

but puts out and out grows the light of a 1000 watt HID all at the cost of 100 watts

of power

I do see how the new grower will get sucked so deep into it :frowning:

so I will order parts and build one to try

if I do not like it can always sell it or just clone with it

with 50000 hours of life on the LED it will be here when I am gone

OK so i just pulled the trigger on some parts for this LED build

first off what pain tax and tariffs? 40 us dollars of cost went to that

bullshit

I have never ran into that buying the beloved beans :slight_smile:

so I am told this will do 300 watts of light so it should do the trick

I am going to use this panel to start with to do 32 - 6 inch square pots

in a Sea of Green 2 foot by 4 foot footprint looking to get around 300 grams a cycle

and maybe 4 shelves in the future

just need to figure out how tall to make the shelf

Showed my wife the PhyoMax-2 and she looked at it and said to me

you could buy 3 - 1000 watt HID Ballasts for 70 dollar total of 210 and 6 bulbs

3 MH 3 HPS for 150 dollars

buy clones fill the room and pay for 8 weeks of power

harvest 3 keys and have bucks left over

and that is why she is a keeper :slight_smile:

she gets math :wink:

about 35 of his 60 day Buleberry to make beans with

these all came from Mark he was great to deal and his beans look good

so time will tell it always does

I drop 10 or 12 forget the count as I have been smoking hash since 4 AM

like a house a fire

They are I have to say some of the nicest looking beans Thank You

they are an auto and male/female

and to think here we are only 5 months from working outside again

it don’t get any better

Today is 12/07/2020 the day my Dad always told folks I

should have been born on

so after a weekend of drug induced stupor I am back to work

and I am having a lucid moment

Now I am trying to figure what I bought for LEDs? what the

hell do I think I am building? did I buy any beans? if yes How many?

at one point I was putting beans in the cart than removing them

so I want to build a 2 foot by 4 foot panel with a vision of doing 32

six inch square pots in a SOG for around 320 grams a grow cycle

and do two shelf other time

being that most of the time I am left alone with little to no

Adult supervisor

and have paypal and the internet

I bought 21 two foot LEDs strips in 3500K for flowering

and a couple of drivers to run them

being an IT person I am looking around for the white paper

or Cliff Notes LEDs for dummies

so I will build soon I just need to talk to my maintenance guys

to see what we already have for metal, wire, connectors etc.

I have more beans coming tomorrow

75 of C99 mix and 75 of another mix so time to pheno hunt

told my wife this morning on the way to work thank god spring

is right around the corner

she keeps trying to tell me I am mentally ill

I keep telling her I am just trying to look at things from the sun side of life

what a kill joy :frowning:

I really think you are going to love the LEDs when you are finished. Looking forward to your hunt with the C99 and Durban Poison breeder packs. Almost pulled the trigger on those myself.

I picked up the two mixes off of Strainly :slight_smile:

than they put up a code here for 30% off and having

no self control

bought three of ea mixes for 150 beans to work with

at the cost of 120 dollars so I will pop two of ea

and keep one of ea for another day

should give me some cool stuff to weed thru with out

the cookie, glue , ect.

Ooh this is going to be an exciting build. That light should do you solid for sure. I love my LED’s and would definitely build my next one rather than buy some premade thing.

Could likely save a little money right off going HID, but I think you pay it for later in electricity usage, heat, and having to buy bulbs every year. I think you made a good choice and will be pleased ^^

maybe back in January 2001 when I joined OG

now almost 20 years and 10 or 15 thousand watts

of HID lighting

that ship has sailed long ago :slight_smile:

but the 50000 hour life on a diode beats a bulb

Ok, that was mean, sorry…
…but honestly, I love my new light and so will you! The light coverage is amazingly even (corner = center - 20%), natural coloring, less thermal management of the grow area.

I suggest you get a cheap lux meter to help with the setup and running (I’m loving that too).

That’s the first reasonable thing I hear from you since you’re indoors frech|nullxnull, now your space is limited and plants hard to manage when they start stretching :sweat_smile:. I changed to HLG Quantum boards and I am a happy man since, less bucks in the bill, lower heat, no fried colas and I can make normal pictures, not yellowish … ejem|nullxnull

Good thing about seeds is that you can store them, so maybe you’re just doing some savings for the future, spring is still far away … beer3|nullxnull
