Do the highs feel the same to you? ( as in just kind of boring, background high, not the same as back then , not distinct from one another ) )

I just grabbed a pk of CSIs Bubba x Panama Red to run outside this year. That zameldica sounds real interesting, think it was looosh on ig describing it this last week.

I think running a top quality genetic like Chimera and crossing it with good landrace like panama red would result in some of the best strains in the world hahaha… but thats just me…

But no for real has anyone seen Chimera or Tricho Jordan?

beleaf is a legendary breeder for creating those strains

( honestly believe these are some of the best modern strains right now , and I havent even smoked them lol )

Yeah the next big things got to be a landrace cross of some sort, I don’t see another cookie hybrid doing it again this year. I’ve seen the chimera in pics but yet to sample it, recently heard something about him sending out chimera cuts with hplvd but that’s another story and unsure on the truth of that.

this is some of the best in the hemp space . OZ Kush F2 aka The Reddit Cut

The cultivator , type3 cannabis has taken chimera and crossed it with The Reddit cut … :eyes:

ive already smoked some type 1 quality top shelf cbd… but this stuff will be next level. probably terp city and really good non thc effects

Just reading through and had a couple thoughts.
Kevin Jodery said in an interview all the weed looks, smells, smokes the same because everyone is using the same nutrients, grow methods and post harvest methods.
2- I think the push for high thc is a big possibility for why everyone is experiencing a flat high with a short duration.
I currently have some outdoor bandaid haze that I tried to finish in a hoop house. It didn’t finish properly by any stretch of the imagination. The people smoking it all love the flavor and high. The amazing thing is that the potency test came back at 12 percent!

I am not sure this is true?
From what I know real pure 100% THC is known to be trippy and possibly hallucinogenic.
A few folks have told me this including our own @JoeCrowe
I am not really sure what diamonds are exactly but it is probably not pure THC.
Just my ramblings here…
I suspect folks have been breeding for tall trichomes.
What I am learning from @JoeCrowe is that just because it is really frosty does not mean it has a lot of cannabinoids.
He suggests that short trichomes may be less apparent to the naked eye.
Folks today seem to breed for frosty to the naked eye.
This explains why some cultivars are not super frosty but still give you a really good high.

That and not a lot of new genetics are being entered into the marketplace.
Combine that with hardly anyone growing the 12-16 week narrow leaf varieties anymore.
Those are known for the not-so-boring high.
Everybody wants kush-type stuff.
I personally find kush kinda boring unless you get the right variety/strain.

I think it’s an accumulative effect based on age and tolerance. You can’t expect your 40 yr old body to respond to substances the same way as your 20 yr old body, after 2 solid decades of various use and/or abuse.

100% …This is similar to what I was going to say. It seems the trend these days is quick flowering hybrids. For more of the “not-so-boring” high as you say sometimes it takes some patience to grow out some low yielding, long flowering, heart racing sativa’s. It’s not commercially viable for most dispensaries.

I truely believe these effects are due to the homogenization of modern hybrids. When I smoke the new “super pot” I get paranoid for about 20 minutes and then come down fast. I have been smoking for 43 years and I can tell you that the old landraces did not effect me like that. We used to get “pleasantly buzzed” and stay that way all day long. Those different genetic profiles produce easily discernable differences in feelings and reactions. The modern marketplace thinks that thc is the only thing that matters. This plant is very sensative to everything in its enviroment and changes accordingly. I have come to believe that even the mental and emotional content of the grower effects the high of the bud.

As I see it, it’s that we breed towards specific goals these days that shape the chemovar, selecting toward high thc reduce the overall Cannabinoids, also selecting towards sandy trichome consistency instead of oily. Also selecting toward tall and brittle trichomes stalks and the selection for large visable trichomes also come to a cost.

What I’m talking about, is that cannabis in the commercial market have locked itself into a corner of a very specific type of bud that doesn’t concern how it effect it’s user. We cannabis users have been so keen to show off our fantastic looking flowers on Internet that breeders always have a bigger incentive to select towards this subset of flower. Even though something doesn’t have cookies in the lineage, if the breeders is selecting towards the same qualities as cookie, the end goal would have the same type of outcome.

My best advice is for you to grab some good stuff from Ace, like Golden Tiger, or Bangi Haze.

Lol…that would be me (not literally). I don’t do any shatters, rosins, hashes. Even REALLY good weed puts me in a fucky state. I had a tablespoon of butter in the hospital there, could barely fuckin talk…lol.

I think as we age it just seems less intense. Ya got less to be giddy about when you’re middle aged+ weed just kinda takes the edge off save for a couple days after a tolerance break. I smoke nothing but real good weed, it very much helps with my diabetes, nerve pain, and anxiety but is barely more inebriating than a cigarette to me.

Absolutely 100% i can relate to the op, weed is more about its flavour than its effect on me.

I enjoy joint too much to consider giving it up or even taking a break from it.

The Push for High THC Cultivars has had people doing this one thing its been going on since the 90s.Everyone started taking the latest Cannabis Cup winner and breeding it to the last years winner to make new hybrids.Im believing that this has bottle necked a lot of genetics due to using the same parental lines over and over again to the point of a unholy Homogeny im suprised Founders Syndrome isnt showing up at the party yet but with HLVD going around goes to show you one thing can bring the whole house of cards down.Think of how much shit has Chem91,White widow,OG, ect in it.All knockout Plants in thier own league but now being inter bred so much are all turning into a cookie cutter pattern high.Once you take the wolf out of a Chihuahua you cant put the wolf back in.

Yea well it was better 45 years ago too.
I’m smoking cambodian golden tiger cross and some oaxacan varieties that @Upstate was kind enough to send me
These wispy pearl stem original satuvas have several distinct varieties including one that’s is close to the nasty smelling giggle weed we got back jn 1977
Another one is the munchies king
Another is a straight up.pain eraser
However the out put of these is so low many growers will never grow them and pass them by with a smart ass comment.
