Down-Under-Ground

The property has a decent house and shed on it already but there’s lots of room for improvement on both.

I do want to build a small cabin though with a deck on top at the top of one of the hills for barbeques and beer with 360 degree views.

I took cuttings this morning , 8 into soil, 8 into rockwool and 8 in the bubbler.

Looks and sounds wonderful brother :+1: our place had a falling down 5000 square foot building, but it still had a superb cement slab…all we needed. Hahaha

The slab is the expensive bit!

Oh yes! I felt like I struck gold. 4 wells, 3 septics, and a shit load of trailers…lmao. Was a section 8 type of trailer park they condemned. Price was beyond right…well the asking price was not, But what we ended up at was awe inspiring.

Yeah I think we are lucky down here mate that it’s not really that extreme. I don’t think it’s in our nature to give that much or F@@ about anything tbh.

A fair bit of coarse sand through to fine in a pretty decent gradient with just a little silt/clay and quite a bit of organic material.

I will re-do the nutrient tests today, when I done it yesterday I hadn’t let the water settle any it was too dark to the what the colour was to match with the tester.

Forgive me Yanquis Ignorance, but was it price or some other factor making northern Oz i.e. QLD undesirable? It seems nearly as undeveloped. :man_shrugging: The personal life situation isn’t lost on me though, so I sympathize with escapism of course. :man_facepalming: I didn’t realize kiddos were part of it too.

Always happy to read your posts,

:evergreen_tree: And when does that center post in the basement become a bong, already?

I’m not sure what’s undesirable about QLD except maybe the humidity on the coast for growing buds in Far North Queensland.

I’m not sure what’s undeveloped?

After a few years of building a food forest and learning to run livestock I might just cut the cord and go completely off the grid once I feel comfortable with it.

Solar will be installed in the next couple of weeks, I won’t be turning on any more lights until then and that will give me some time to sort out the drip system and get some ‘dry’ runs in to test before I turn on the other side of the room.

I think I will have to use pallet halves for plant stands until I can afford a good aluminium setup and they should just fit down the hole.

Er, well, uh… maybe more Americanism at play here, but is land in SA much cheaper than Australia?

:evergreen_tree:

@cannabissequoia
You’ve still lost me, do you mean South Australia Vs north Queensland?

Bugger that, who would want to live in South Australia especially this time of the year, winter. Give me the warmth of Queensland any time. Yes the humidity can be uncomfortable some times but at least I can walk around in shorts year round.

There’s a reason real estate is cheaper down there, nobody wants to live there.

Cheers Johnny

A had a brief minor heart attack and almost spewed in my mouth this morning, I opened the tent to see that one of the clones was out of the bubbler and the tag on the ground then seen that one of the humidomes was open!

I was having thoughts of what @WrongPlanet said above about eventually there will be trespassers and the shed is away from the house so i’d probably not hear somebody down there at night.
I decided to just get on with it and work out what I was going to do about it later.

So I fixed the bubbler clone and opened to humidomes to inspect… That’s when I found this cheeky bastard with a big sigh of relief.

What size are those pot Pedro?

They are 8 litre pots (2.1 gallon)

I like those better than the ones I got, mine are too big (3Gal) and each pot has their own base, which takes up a lot of room, what’s the dimensions of the double base, and does the base have a partition in the middle, like a dam to separate the water levels for each plant or does it just fill the base and the plants just take what they need? Sorry to pick your brain with so many questions this early in the morning :rofl:

From memory I think the base is 600mm X 300mm, I fit 8 of them for 16 plants in the normal 1.2 X 1.2 metre tent.

There is no partition the one valve will feed the two plants per system at the same time so it’s best to have the same sized plants in each double system.

I should probably use perlite/vermiculite mix instead of soil because I have problems with the soil.

It’s 9 at night for me. I am from the future!

What problems are you finding g with the soil? It leaking into the base or something?
