Dry herb vaporizer...Who uses them?

I agree with what MB said, flower vapes have honestly ruined smoking for me.

The flavor is on a whole different level - you catch all the nuance of what you’ve grown.

I got a Planet Of The Vapes ONE when they came out a few years ago. Used it daily for a few months but when it came down to it I preferred smoking. Haven’t messed with it in forever but I was doing some spring cleaning today and washed all the pieces today. Going to clean the chamber with a little alcohol tomorrow and get it back into rotation.

I can definitely get high off it but I don’t get stoned off it. I kind of like using it more for a light mood boost rather than a session. Pretty nice vape even compared to my buddy’s more pricy Mighty.

I’ll agree that smoking can’t touch anywhere near the flavor you get vaping. Definitely gives you more of the complexities of each strain.

Just got my Utillian 620 in the post yesterday. Very impressed with it, great design, you can set your use time so it switches off automatically, it vibrates when temps are reached and when it shuts off, I have it set on the lowest setting of 3 minutes, it could do with a one minute setting save even more battery power, battery will last 2 hours of constant use, holds 0.2 of a gram, the mouth piece is held on magnetically and slides of the unit so loading it up is really easy, and makes it a doddle to clean. Black glass mouthpiece sticks out about an inch, and the vapour runs through a small corkscrew thing to cool it down a bit. Nice compact size for carrying in a pocket.

Gives plenty of vapour and makes my weed taste even better

I’m looking a the Firefly 2+ as well when I can scramble the means together.

I picked up an original Firefly for just a couple of bucks a few weeks ago and really like it (although it is a total brick), but it seems to work best with longer slower draws, and I have read the same about the newer versions (although they are MUCH lighter and a little smaller). What I like most is the on demand heating system, which allows you to tear through a whole bowl
in two or three big rips, but also to just take a hit or two if that’s what the moment calls for.

My roommate has a Crafty, which is probably the most aggressive smaller vape I have ever used - basically it’s like carrying around a good approximation of a Volcano in your pocket, I’m sure the Mighty is even more so.

And every vaper should have a Dynavap in their toolbox, but of course that’s just my opinion…

Best potable I’ve found thus far is called the tiny might

Had it for a year now no issues. This almost as good as desktop which is saying a lot.

I maintain the Arizer Solo II is the best weed-related purchase I’ve made in my lifetime. It is small enough to be portable but performs in a BIG way while remaining incredibly efficient. It has good battery life - I might charge it once every week or two, though I don’t use it every day - and allows you to set the exact temp you want and specify the duration of your session (I like 370°F/188°C for 5 minutes). The glass stems have a “bowl” end where you load your herb and that is inserted into the device’s “oven” chamber. It’s a pure glass path for the vapor to travel with nothing to get in the way of the flavor. And it’s half the price of the Mighty…

I switch my means of consumption frequently, but this is by far my most commonly used device. I rarely combust since I bought it (from 420EDC.com, no affiliation, but great customer service and sales on Arizer bundles) unless I’m craving a bong hit.

What some folks don’t like: You can’t swap the battery without some effort so it might not be the best option if you’re going where there is no electricity. You don’t produce huge clouds like some others - though you certainly receive the effects. The device is portable (fits in your hand), but with a stem attached it doesn’t slip into pockets easily (maybe a jacket or cargo pocket). I mostly use it around the house, but have a travel case (holds the device, some stems, herb, jar for ABV, charger) so I can easily bring it with me anywhere.

I’ve been using my handy Flowermate V5.0 Pro convection vape for dang near 5 years and it still keeps a charge for at least 20 “sessions” and doesn’t lose a charge if in storage. It’s a true workhorse, and for $100ish delivered it’s a helluva deal on a portable vape. The link goes to the newer version of it.

Damn… gonna be a tough choice… I found the Mighty for $249.99 with a coupon code… but definitely some quality options for $100 less… damnit… decisions…

I AM
Goddam tired of everything needed plugged in to recharge every ten minutes so I gotta run down an USB, make sure it’s connected good, half the time in the dark or turn a light on, then some thing is needed plugged in, wife borrows mine and has a different plug for her phone or another different plug for the dam iPad and so on. Go check after an hour and it was never charged, or the cat knocked it loose or.ya gotta down load an app or…something. Fuck modern life.

That’s the one I have and you’d never guess it was only $100. The design itself is was unpatented and started out as The Fury II by Healthy Rips and a few companies just started making them with different names. POTV did the same but with upgrades like haptic feedback and a design where the mouthpiece glass was above the chamber allowing for bigger bowl packs.

My buddy has a Mighty and I personally didn’t notice any difference in vapor quality. I like that mine has less plastic in the path between herb and my lungs ( zero plastic with the glass mouthpiece). I am without a doubt sure that the Mighty is the better product to justify the hype and the price of it but from using them both I’d be hard pressed to tell you in what ways. The fact that the ONE is smaller than a pack of cigs gives it major points from me for comfortable portability.

@Slick1 thats good intel man… appreciate that!

I got a little Davinci and it’s fine, but it has to be cleaned fairly often or the rips taste like burnt weed. It was supposed to be the most popular vape in the dispensary… probably great for hiding in your pants and taking rips between classes.

I did this for my glass- I fucking love the thick ass bong I paid too much money for. It’s heavy glass I know will last, pretty simple no proprietary whatever to go wrong. I do not regret that at all.

But now I don’t really smoke, and won’t ever much again. I moved to concentrates because of that, because I found dry herb vapes always taste like dirt. Mildly cannabis flavored, mostly toast flavored. Maybe you guys can point me in a better direction? I love my concentrates, nice strong ones two, waxes are too hard on my lungs. Is it possible to get anything close to the same flavor? I want a couple draws, and be through a decent chunk of flower, maybe .3 grams at a time? I trust all over your experience over marketing bullshit.

You may be the only person I’ve ever heard of that didn’t like the taste of a dry vape.

Did you run it at lower temps too? Usually the flavor is in the 390 and less range. Anything more gets closer towards combustion.

Yep, at 380-390. I will add the caveat, I’ve only tried the one, was maybe $100. Possible it’s just a bad model, but I’ve been hesitant to buy another. It’s not so much BAD as just not good.

I got the solo II a week ago and have used it exclusively since. My 9 day review is its a solid device. I use it every day and I need to only charge once since the initial charge.

My sister liked it so much shes getting one.

$169.99 solid deal. They upcharge canadians though I noticed. I guess Canada would rather its citizens combust

Do you remember what the model was? I don’t have a ton of dry vape experience but I haven’t had a single (fresh) hit that wasn’t delicious. My ONE pulls citrus flavors like crazy out of a lot of flower. I had some Pine Soul OG that tasted really nice and piney when smoked but when vaped it was like this pine and cream flavor that sounds weird but was awesome.

I used it for a month or so, learned how to use it as well as I could, never have been happy with it. I just looked at it now, it’s still loaded with some AVB from when I left it on my desk so many months ago. Honestly thought I threw it out but must’ve been just the box!
