Dumme's Aero-Soil-Aquaponics adventure

Putting aside that having state-of-the-art system in your hands can be value in itself :microscope:, I wonder what benefits could it have…

Foggers against LPA… do you think that it could grow a bit faster or what benefits do you expect?

I like to achieve pure white roots which is hard in aquaponics. From what I’ve seen of others, fogponics can do this in conjunction with aquaponics. I might try it with 1 room to start, for a test. I’ll keep the current plumbing for a backup.

It would also take the bulk of the workload off the single pump I have pushing all the sprinkler heads. Snail shells are my number one issue right now. Although they’re a sign of a healthy system, they end up clogging up my sprinkler heads daily. It’d be nice not worrying about them constantly.

Thanks for update @Dumme, it looks amazing! So how do you like it? What are your first impressions… ?

No more problem with snails and healthier roots? :snail:

What type of ultrasonic foggers do you use for this scale?

I know its been a while since I’ve updated. I almost moved locations twice this year, and college is kicking my butt.

There’s about 31.5ft³ within each chamber. I went with the largest mist maker House of Hydro makes, for each chamber. About $450US each, so pretty pricey. I’ve been told about 3 gallons per hour. It’s a bit too early to tell how well they’ll work yet, but I’ll be updating as they grow.

Super quiet compared to the low-pressure aero. No more snails problems, yay!

450 bucks … wow!

Is it this one?

So basically each chamber holds 5 plants?

Yes sir, that’s the one.

Yes, each row consists of a 10 foot culvert, with 5 plants.

Second string of lights is built in room 3 (fogponics).

A quick look at the leaves, and you can see the it looks under watered. This is caused by underdeveloped roots sytem in the new fog system. Recovery time is still unknown, but the new root growth is amazing. The new roots are fuzzy, with much smaller root hairs to collect water & nutrients.

That root shot is very cool.
I can definitely see the ultra fine hairs.

This is a super cool grow system @Dumme.

The new root growth is so impressive omfg. Thanks !!

I think that I read somewhere that fogponics fail to deliver some nutrients, something related to particle size and stuff. Will be nice to keep an eye here (well, I am keeping with or without fogponics).

Amazing grow and the lights too. Everyday i see things in here that make me go crazy man! HAHAHA!
