Eyesight Questions

I got lasik around 10 years ago. Best thing ever! Wore glasses and contacts for years hated them both. After lasik I see crystal clear better than I ever did with specs or contacts.

I haven’t had any issues, one thing I’d recommend is not to smoke weed for a couple weeks after. I smoked the day after like a dumb ass and my eyes felt like they were going to explode. I swear I could hear my eyes tightening up from all the pressure I was feeling in my eyes.

Get it man I promise you won’t regret it.

I can not see how CBD will reshape the lens portion of your eye.

I had the process done almost 25 years ago. I was nearsighted and had both eyes done and then one touched up. I had a side effect from the drops they had me put in my eyes. Had me seeing double in each eye, when the number of drops was reduced the effect went away. They over correct your eyes and your body tries to ‘correct’ them back to the way they were. The drops retard the correction and they use it to fine tune the focus. The drops problem seemed to be only me, the doctor never had another patient with the problem. Otherwise it worked and it was only as I aged that I now need glasses for seeing close but that is the muscles tugging at the eye that adjusts your focus that can not do their job as they used to.

I suggest reading some of these articles. They say that at this point it’s only around 1% of people that experience negative issues from Lasik surgery. That may not seem like much but I guess if you end up in that 1% you might feel different.

I think Pest is just being an asshole…I’ve seen him post another bullshit comment on a different thread…

I have no center vision in my right eye but when both eyes work together I still have 20/20 vision. My eye doctor said i’m probably better off just living with it as is compared to risking surgery. No glasses or contacts but i have a feeling it will get worse as i get older.

All told, I probably would not have got it done given where I am today. Sure it was convenient not needing glasses but I did not do anything in the past 20 years where wearing glasses would have been a disadvantage. I pretty much wear glasses all the time now, mainly for short distances or if I go out I usually have sunglasses on. I did have some of the halo (more like a star effect) at night but not enough to notice unless I would pay attention to it.

did you ever get the lasik? just wondering and reading through old posts. when i was in special forces unit back in 2001 when we deployed to afghanistan, i got prk. they wouldn’t let us have lasik since we were spec ops, even us support guys. they said because if one were to get hit real hard it could detach the retina very easily. best thing i ever got 22 years later. and on the contacts, i used to be terrible about not replacing my weekly disposables. i wore one set for a year without taking them out. when i finally did, they had paint spots on them from when i was working at a paint shop spraying trailer frames with undercoating. you can go for a while with them but i would not recommend going that long.
