Cant go wrong with JOTI

I’m generally a learn by doing kinda guy, so I say go for it! Also, I’ve had lousy strawberry cough, and despite it not tasting great, the high was still the same. I also love strawberry cough, and I’ve been wanting to pick some up.

The first and best strawberry cough I had was in Vancouver so I am hoping since JOTI is from around that area that it’s something similar! In a way I was glad to have these throwaway seeds to practice on. In the spirit of the Frizz I definitely made some mistakes and learned from them!!

Trimmed up the blue diesel today! It’s pretty leafy which is probably just due to my inexperience but I’m still happy with it and I learned a lot  I got just under 25 grams not including some test buds I didn’t weigh. It smells a lot like ginger beer trimming it and in the jar

My trimming could probably use some more practice but it was pretty leafy so I decided to leave a lot of the ones that had a few trichomes

Here’s a pic of the crop king “Bruce Banner” at day 64

It’s a 10 week plant according to their website so it will be switching to just water this Monday

My inkbird humidity controller came just in time for the last week or two!

I think I may let it go to 11 or more instead of the recommended 10 weeks

May be going through some nutrient burn or heat stress but much less crispy than her late sister!

Day 67, 43 in flower

Just been getting 1L of tap water twice a day the last week. I leave it sitting out for 24 hours or more, started using tap from distilled quite a while ago as I got sick of buying it and the ppm would go crazy high after added the nutrients more than the dap did. The runoff pH is down to like 6.79 ppm 91

So 12Am I chopped the crop king Bruce banner! Stopped watering it on Thursday and started a dark period that night til the chop. I didn’t get the chance to do that with the blue diesel since this plant was still growing at the time. Here’s a pic just before hanging:

And my favourite part: ROOT PICS!

Surprisingly having trouble keeping the humidity in the tent above 40% so we’ll see how it smokes I guess! I do have a few colas drying in the cabinet I used before staying at 55% so I think those will give me an accurate taste when it’s ready to smoke

That is a lot of roots there. Very cool!

When I was a kid I used to like to turn over big rocks to see all the stuff going on and creatures living underneath, this kind of feels like the adult version of that

For goofs I trimmed up some of the stuff that was hanging in my kitchen cabinet. Pretty leafy again but I think that’s probably due to my inexperience growing and trimming. Next time I’ll be paying more attention to the nutrient feedings

The rest is still hanging and for some reason the humidity spiked to like 60

Nice harvest-

I live in the desert, and I think 40% is perfect for flowering…

I let my dry area spike to 80% for hours at a time, then don’t let it go below 65% average, if possible…

I like to stretch my drying time to 2 weeks before jarring…

Oh I will definitely be trying your method next time!! I didn’t realize it could be that humid during the dry, so do you prefer to let it dry longer and slower and does that give it a better cure you find?

You most definitely can dry herb in higher humidity-

I used to do it all the time when I lived on Oahu…

A long slow dry will make your buds have a much better terp profile and desired consistency-

Follow it up with some quality jar curing, and your home grown will be much closer to top shelf nuggs…

On my next grow I’ll be trying it better terps are all you can ask for in my book!!

So after trimming and sitting in jars a week I weighed all my bud and came out to about 58.77 grams from the crop king plant, now I probably have a bit extra weight just on account of maybe leaving a little extra leaf or stem on cuz I’m pretty inexperienced at trimming but I’m still pretty pleased, I’ll have a stash for 420 and til my next grow hopefully!

Probably missing about 9g from the photo just cuz I gave some away and smoked a bit to test. It tasted ok but wasn’t all that strong, and stunk kinda like mothballs or cheese lol to be expected and I’m not bothered
This is probably my last post in this journal as I’ve begun to germinate some strawberry glue regs from the very generous @HashstasH thanks again my dude!! :cowboy_hat_face:
And thanks to everyone who read along, offered advice and words of encouragement, I couldn’t ask for a better community than overgrow!! :metal: Ms. Frizzle would be proud of you all!! :green_heart:
