Yoyo’s - Had the thought today that as the plants get bigger it made sense to try out reverse yoyo’ing some branches. Works pretty well, but best left until they get some strength in those limbs!
Baja Blasts - 2 differing strategies for structure shaping. Top one doesn’t show off very well from the side angle, but I wish I could recreate it! Ending up with a really nice column of widespread colas without getting too wide for the greenhouse space.
Another great Sunday! A buddy stopped by and so he rolled up; two Swazi Ruz doobies, two A New Hope x Cobra Lips, two Durban Venom and two Sherbanger x Purple Punch! That was at 9:30 this morning…I just walked back in the door in the dark! but man did I get a lot done! The verdict is in - at least one of them is REALLY stoney! 555!
Thanks again bro! I’ve pinched 5 out of 9 (so far). My recent debacle w/pure Sativa’s has me wondering what to try next with these? I figure I need to pinch these very heavily for a while as that last batch got to 4 meters before self-destructing and with monsoon season headed this way they’re gonna need to be held at 2 meters in the greenhouse.
I would train them early.
I had 3 in a 4x4 tent, they grew through the light.
I found that these took aggressive training easily. They just bounce right back stronger than before.
Monday, Monday… Had a visit from my buddy on Koh Tao who brought me over a little gift pack from KD and his Birthday party! And a few versions of the Strange Fruit x Joker’s Candy crossed with the Jamaican Lambsbread. So far they have only gotten males from the JL seeds I shared with them, so they used it on a bunch of crosses. Also got a Mango Thai that’s being grown over on the mainland in Surattani.
Managed to get a bunch more plants sorted out in the upper greenhouse. Chopped the remaining males of both the Baja Blast and the Powie Poisons and then washed the girls down, blew them out with the leaf blower and stuck 'em back in the preggi row in the greenhouse. Found a nice Corey Heime x Blue Kush to nestle under the male that’s going off.
I wish I had taken a ‘before’ pic of that E&F table freebie I got last week! Thing looked like a piece of Sh*t to start with but a little bleach and some elbow grease and it now looks brand new! Slowly but surely!
The Acapulco Golds from @MissinBissin are doing so well I’m really tempted to transplant them out of their 1 gallon airpots. I started pinching them the other day and I think that like the Malawi, I’m gonna need to work at keeping the thick and low for as long as I can. Would love to get the new E&F table set up and put all of both of them in there for a while. But still have to run electricity and water in there, half bury the tank and level everything up.
One of my guys saw that I prepped another 5 trays of Solo’s for the Mexican Oregano cuttings yesterday and went for it! I had though that was enough to cover the week’s cuttings - he did it in an hour! And I got a kilo bag of trimmed leaves from the bottoms of the cuttings! Now I’ve got a 7-tiered net airdryer full hanging in the living room and a big 7-tiered round one in the tent drying. Great smell!
Okay, tomorrow’s Doc day again and I need to pick up more seaweed, Cal-Mag and a few odds & ends so may or may not be around to post. Have a great week!
WoW! Those look spectacular bro! Sugar-coated! Thanks again!
@MissinBissin WoW too! 5+3 weeks? That sounds great to me, I was expecting them to need a loooong flowering time. I’m pretty amazed at the size of the fan leaves on them. Not what I was expecting at all!
Yahooo! Made the ‘town run’, saw the doc and grabbed a bunch of stuff to keep moving forward on the new E&F table. Also decided it was time to move the 3 gallon plants out of the old Monsoon Hut and out amongst the Chocolate Sapote Grove. I want room in the tables to be able to HST/LST the Malawi and and the Acapulco Golds. There just wasn’t enough room to get at them. The 3 gallon’ers are all undeclared sex plant as yet, so we can keep an eye on them and the females will get moved into the upper greenhouse (or the new E&F if finished in time).
Here’s one of the 9 Malawi with it’s initial bending going on.
Shitty picture, but nice Sherbanger x Purple Punch plant! From @Drsunshinestrains I had this one in the row(s) of Powie Poisons and for the longest time just assumed that’s what it was. Got a surprise today when I noticed it was frosting up earlier than all the others and so checked the tag! Whoops! Guess I was pinching the Powies and decided to do one of the Sherbangers at the same time. All the other Sherb’s got put into big bags and were allowed to grow without topping/pinching.
Another great day! Staked a few more gals in the upper greenhouse which is starting to make it tough to move around in there! Between all the coated lead wires, the stakes and reverse yo-yo action it’s way too easy to snag on something!
Sapotes & Friends… Decided to start to move the undeclared 3-gallon pots out of the old E&F tables to give me more space to get at the Malawi & Acapulco Gold plants that I need to do heavy training on. After getting pulled from the lights today I expect we won’t have to wait long to sex these.
Looking like you have the place busting at the seams with flowers already!!
That didn’t take very long! Hahahah
The sherbangers look better than my indoors! great job on those with the big ass pots!!
Monster colas on this untouched ones.
The plants you are training look spot on… Gonna make things a bit easier on you later on.
Love the sapote garden, you are gonna get a ton of fruit when they bloom out for ya.
Can’t wait to see that table on overdrive… Im sure you will have it running in no time smoking that soulmate! I bet the buried reservoir will keep the juice cold too.
Another great day! We had a couple quick rain showers but nothing substantial. Probably actually spent more time on nursery stock than the ganja today. Things are starting to look pretty good again. I really just hate to have to leave at sunset every night!
Not much time for pics today, but snapped a couple…
@Tuned Been pinching and twisting these Malawi’s. After moving the 3 gallon pots out of the E&F tables there’s finally enough room to get at them again. I have yet to really test out the long-term effects of the 1 gallon airpots. The whole idea is for them to get completely filled with auxiliary roots as the root tips hit the openings in the walls and get air-pruned. I ALWAYS transplant them waaaay before that…but these just might get pushed a while longer. If I can keep 'em short enough and under the lights for a few more weeks they’ll stand a better chance of making it out the back end of monsoon in full flower. And it would save on space ‘under roof’ at the same time. Of course we just might get the new E&F table up and running for them.
Yes, let the Malawi get a bit root bound, good idea. They are beautiful looking plants!
That Kali Mist produced some wonderful smoke for me. Euphoric, float away kind of high. Please be a girl
