It is a beauty, when someone like @Tlander gets ahold of it. Maybe we should get @CanuckistanPete to also give it a go. Just a beautiful job growing it. Thank you for showing the potential of this strain.
What did you make the beans with? Pina Cheese male?
In due time my friend…in due time!
Yep, I only kept the single male, but hopefully it’ll be enough! I’m dreading the fact that the big female is probably going to have to get moved right in front of the hurricane fan today to keep the budrot at bay…means I’ll have a lot of broken/damaged fan leaves, but better than budrot! Hoping I can stick around long enough to grow some of these in a drier period!
Is this something you cooked up, or was it around prior? I haven’t really been able to find any info on it. Just a stunner bro!
Managed to pick out 20 x Soulmate, 20 x Roof '95 and 20 x Powie Poison x God’s Timewarp and put em in soaks! Still only the first 2 Freakshow showing above ground. Overcast and looking like it’s about to dump on us again any minute! Oh well, that’ll give me time to make the experimental cuttings today.
Well, I’d say it rained about 85% of the day. At least it was cool!
@Tuned Malawi’s don’t seem to be bothered by the rains. It’s only been 2-3 days, but the top-dressing & cricket shit (and rains) seem to have off set the yellowing fans for now. buds are developing and it’s got me wondering if these will really take as long as advertised? I’m betting they’ll be way ahead of schedule! We’ll see how much longer I can leave them outside in monsoon…not really much room anywhere else under roof right now. Thanks again, these are gorgeous plants and probably the happiest pure Sativa’s I’ve grown here!
. . .Well, I was gonna do a couple ‘test’ cuttings to see if a low-tech rooting system will work. I’m just not up for dealing with the cloner and all the fiddling around w/ventilation, so it’s solo cups and a perlite heavy media in the E&F table…if they make it - great, if not - my plants needed topping anyway! I went a little over my ‘couple’ limit! As usual! (well, it IS a ‘couple’ dozen!)
Mostly God’s Timewarp F1’s from the last run. No drying on the seeds - straight into soaks/plugs 10/10! There’s a Freakshow, a Bag of Oranges, a Sherbanger and probably a couple others in there too!
I took a couple clones off this red-stemmed pheno of the Soulmate F1’s I made from @BobbyBudz beans. It’s the only one like it that I’ve seen in the last 20 or so plants. We spotted the first pistil on her today, so hope the lights will kick her back into veg/rooting.
.And back up in the Upper greenhouse for a sunset checkuP!
. .Still only 2 Freakshows uP…no sign of the others or any Bag of Oranges or the White Widows…yet! Did get one White Widow declaring as male…gonna hold onto him and hope the other one’s a female. Probably can’t deal with collecting/drying/storing pollen for the next generation during monsoon season.
Gotta check the 60 soakers and see if we got any cracks yet? Plug tray w/‘special’ seedling blend is loaded and waiting!
I ‘think’ we finally have pretty much cleared the bulk of the Roof '95 beans off the seeded female. Probably another hundred or two left, but she’s been too manhandled to even have much left to smoke! But for 1,500-2,000 beans it was probably worth it! Hoping my 3D puck-printer guy returns from the Amazon tomorrow!
That is totally a strain I made.
That is a great compliment, considering how many strains that you grow. Thanks Brother.
Losing a few or lots of fan leaves at this stage, in my opinion, will only do it some good.
What ??? You mean they sell cricket shit ??? That blows my mind !!!
It is the rest of the cricket that they they don’t put into your flour.
555! I search out materials from other people’s waste streams! I laughed the other day when I read in a thread here what people in US/Canada are paying for rice hulls! Over here I fill the bed of my truck with giant rice sacks full for what you guys pay for one bag!
Roasted Crickets (and lots of other things) are quite common in the local marketplaces, so I searched for who is producing them wholesale for all these sellers? Then just played "“Let’s make a deal”! One man’s garbage is another man’s gold!
Hey TL, if those Malawi Gold are based off the landrace teams MG, they will be fairly quick for a pure tropical. The ones i did inside where done in 14-15 wks and i saw another members where done by wk 15 inside. How this equates to outdoors in the your environment, I’m not sure but you instincts are correct on them being quick.
I agree with @Budderton
Ace seeds crossed Malawi with PCK I believe. Some plants should finish in around the 15 week mark.
The mother of your seeds @Tlander went 20 weeks in my tent. I probably could have harvested sooner but I was in no rush and wanted to see how far it would go. It kept throwing out white hairs right up to the end which was deceiving.
Yours look fantastic and seem to be enjoying your climate.
Could the leaf yellowing be from wet roots?
Could well be…They’re on a once a day drip, but we’ve been getting a fair amount of rain lately too. Those square pots have legs and a raised bottom so they drain pretty well. I was more concerned that the 3 gallon pots might have limited their nutrient supply, so I hit 'em with a good top-dressing and some cricket shit and then it rained for 2 days. Today there were far less new yellow fans, so I’m hoping that was it.
I was just looking at an OG thread on the ACE Malawi and was surprised how much thinner the leaves are on mine than most of the ones shown. Thanks again!
FYI @Tlander I’m sending some Pesos for December’s needs.
Be they Postal, Printer or otherwise ! Just a little Something for the foundation.
Still chuckling at your grabbing 20 of each for the E&F trays; constant motion in T-Land
All your Plants look amazing
Thanks missin! Man, I rolled a fattie of Strawberry Diesel x Space Dude, burned it and am blasted! Just took a 45-minute shower! Needs a WARNING label on it!
Checked in on the clones/cuttings today…All good!
The Panama Red @MissinBissin did indeed have wide, hollow stems, but the cuttings look fine today! Tough love time down there, no humidity domes (nor needed!), 2x/day ebb & flow fill, 16 hrs lights on (off to the side).
.Mother plants make me think we wont know the difference in a week! Everything’s just shooting back uP!
Gave some Baja Blast to a friend who had to hold off for the weekend…just got this message;
And the single 1-gallon Freakshow is coming along nicely. She’s hopefully got two younger sisters in the plug trays right now.
Okay, waaay toooo buzzzzzzed! Alohahaha!
Just got these from my client/buddy who left here on Tuesday evening headed back to Nepal for an expedition w/his other buddy the snow leopard conservation project leader in central Nepal.
Quite a climatic change!
Your FreakShow looks amazing !
And I see what you mean by the phat hollow Stems on the P Red cuts.
That really does stand-out!! Thin-Walls as well
For those interested in Thai strains, here’s some links for herbarium samples.
(Credit; “Icchashakti” on Zomia discord)
A few herbarium specimens:
• “Phrae, The Forestry School.” (1940)
• “Saraburi, Mueang, Khung I Suea.” (1945)
• “Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thap Chang, Khiri Wong.” (1951)
• “Bangkok” (1959)
• “Chiang Mai, Doi Chiang Dao” (1962)
• “Thailand, NE: Loei, Phu Luang.” (1966)
• “Northern Thailand, Phitsanulok: Phu Rom Rot, one of the peaks of Phu Miang.” (1967)
• “Mae Sa Walushed (Pan Lung)” (1977)
• “Mae Sa Watershed (Mae-Hat)” (1977)
• “Sakon Nokhon”, from the collections of David Watson a.k.a. Sam Skunkman (1996)
• unspecified location, from the collections Dr. Ernest Small (received originally in the 70’s from “Mr. Braenden, United Nations at Geneva”) (1996)
And a few more - from the collections of the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department’s Forest Herbarium:
• “Chiang Rai, Doi Lung Ka, Mae Soi.” (1933)
• “Loei, Wang Saphung” (1948)
• “Loei, Si Than forest.” (1958)
• “Nakhon Ratchasima, Pak Thong Chai, Wang Nam Khiao.” (1968)
• “Chiang Mai, Siriphum Waterfall, around Siriphum Waterfall.” (1984)
Very cool after looking at all of them I would pick “Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thap Chang, Khiri Wong.” (1951) even though it looks to be a hermi looks seeded too.
Thank you very much for this ! That is exactly what I needed.
Runnin’ hard, not much time to post…
Mexican Oregano starting to do it’s job shading the black bags. Just about all the palms are loaded up now.
Malawi’s wish they were back out in the full sun. Weather ‘seems’ to have flipped back to Sun, but spotted a little bit of mold on them from last week’s rains.
Freakshow got transplanted uP to a 5-gallon yesterday. Two more seedlings coming along.
Here’s a comparison of the Panama Reds - unchopped vs chopped. Think I’m gonna chop the rest of them today.
Same-same w/the Strawberry Diesel x Spacedudettes -unchopped vs chopped.
Chocolate Sapotes are happy as can be. Last week’s top-dressing & cricket shit seems to have been good for them. The Malawi’s were blocking the view of these for a few weeks, nice to see them again!
Picked uP another 100 pucks yesterday, so my evenings are busy! Tonight is Loy Krathong in Thailand so heading to the beach with a bunch of friends for sunset and the evening. Traditionally, everybody makes a krathong (floating offering to the Spirits) to send off to sea or down river.
Okay, back again when I get a chance. Have a great weekend!
I can promise that when I get mail from You @Tlander, it rivals a Van Gogh.
In-fricking incredible is what this is “T” and I’m sending a big hug n a High Five…
Infinite Thanks Sir, for giving this Roof’95 strain a surface to cover, like Earth.
Love the Card 555 555
