@MissinBissin So glad they made it to you bro! Really happy to have been able to do the OG thing w/these beans! Especially when somebody shares their last few precious ones with me so freely! And we’re just getting started!
I was hoping to take my Sunday and prep cards for mailing, but it’s 10 pm and I didn’t even get one done!
The full moon rise snuck uP on us as we had our view blocked by the trees. I happened to get up and walk out on the beach to find it was already well above the horizon.
Been making a ton of cuttings and doing a lot of wiring of branches to try to keep them all from becoming ceiling brushers! Cuttings are hanging in there, for the most part. Lost 2 or 3 and the most recent tray of Solo’s is looking a little ‘iffy’.
Thanks guys, and @Tuned - Thanks for the head’s uP on the postal strike, easily 50% of my cards would’ve been headed that way. Please let me know when they settle it. We’ll do a few giveaways…just in case I miss anybody!
After a month in the tent, the Mexican Oregano was finally ‘dry’ enough to process! That large peanut butter jar full was what filled a 5-tiered, large hanging drying rack (one leaf layer thick) . I didn’t want to turn it to powder, as I don’t know what’s best for cooking, but I figure if they want to, people can grind it further. The oil content is so high that even after a month the leaves still had a leathery texture to them. The whole house smells great, and it’s a different ‘Great’ smell than everyone is used to around here! Should be enough for a while…but there’s now hundreds of plants all over the place!
Malawi’s chuggin’ along! We’re still getting ‘showers’ but the outdoor are looking much happier than the ones inside the greenhouse. Think they’re not getting enough sun in there.
It was my once every 3 months trip to Immigration today, driving on my 20 year-old spare tire! Managed to get the old tire’s inner-tube replaced while I was gone and changed back on my return. Scored a bunch of good soil amendments while circling the island. Even found a source for ground uP egg shells of which a grabbed a few bags full!
The Soulmate continues to be my go-to weed! I think I’ve got it wired now; roll a nice fat joint, take 2-3 hits and put it down and leave for the nursery immediately! Oh, and turn on the pathway lights before you leave because it’ll be after dark before you return!
Got about 50% germination on the fresh Roof '95 beans (NO drying, for test). Hoping that goes way uP in a couple weeks. There are only 2 seeded plants left (that I know of!), one is the Pina Cheese and I can see some very swollen calyx…and the other is a Powie Pink that wasn’t very far into flower when I hit her uP. We’ll see what comes of that in a few weeks.
Well, looking over at the rack I see I have plugs to transplant. I better get to it! Have a great day guys!
And so i cant ake credit for anything other than following directions. There are many variables but when it came down to what works for me, i add 1 tbsp of both the calcium mixture i make by adding white vinegar to eggshells and wait. And 1 tbsp epsom Salt to 1 gallon of water and they are plenty ahappy. My ph is a little high that i notice but not too bad so i rarely even Play with it.
Gotta do more with what i got
And 28 of the 32 topped clones are still looking good w/minimal care. When I think back to all the time, equipment and attention I used to give them with only minimal success compared to this it just blows me away!
Malawi’s… Most are hanging in there, though now all moved in under the roof. We pulled one that had the same reaction to the rain as the Peshawars did - blackened young leaves d flowers…not something it’s likely to recover from. But there are eight more hanging in there,
Well, with the weather patterns we’re in over here, I better go start another 5 gallons of Hypoclorious acid brewing! Have a Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the US! I’m sure thankful for all my buddies on OG! Thanks to you and your beans (and my RSO!), I can literally say, “You’ve kept me alive another year”!
Its always interesting too see what’s going on in your part of the world
My part of the world is heading into winter.
Malawi and Powie Wowie are looking great! Hopefully you get some sunny weather.
We are still having a postal strike here so I’ll be holding off on any mailing.
Cheers
You got that tent looking good as new!
From the picture you sent today I thought it would take longer than 3 hours. hahaha
nice one!
I think it was @bigLblazed had a cool trick with some hangers I saw on a thread here.
you stick em between the post and the tent to hold the corners open.
Maybe someone can remember or I’ll find it, might buy you a bit of extra room in there.
We have been buying a powdered mix very cheap for cal mag although I have toyed with the thought of it before we found that solution to the bottled stuff. after I saw that bag I looked on shopee and its so cheap and they even have fine powder. Do you use that in your mix?
Whatever is in it the plants sure do love it.
Super excited to see these Freaks!
You have to clone em! this is gonna be awesome.
Fingers crossed you dodge the rains.
Its finally dried up here in the city.
Good thing as all my plants outdoors are 2-3 weeks into flower.
This should be the best 2-3 months of the year up here, and hopefully a few cold snaps.
great to see all in t’s world today so thank you for that.
@bigLblazed If either of you, or anyone else finds it and can drop a link I’d love it…hard as I try, I can’t picture what you mean with the hangers!
With all the rain, I’m setting alarms and running back and forth to turn on/off AC & dehu’s! I’m trying different venting solutions to try to nurse the existing system along until I have time to get something better together.
@Drsunshinestrains I just grabbed 'em when I saw 'em! (egg shells). Figure I’ll add some to my mix but mainly want to try the recipe from Boozer’s post. Though I’m not real clear on it yet…bought the vinegar today! And yeah, will definitely try to clone the Freaks…really hoping for a male and two females!
I think this is just the beginning of the rains down here. Maybe not even the ‘real’ monsoon yet. Well, all the palms got doused with a heavy liquid feed this week, rains will soak it in and by the time the sun comes back out things will be exploding all over!
I was just lamenting that there’s no turkey dinners here…then realized I’ve been eating turkey tail mushrooms for over a year now! Happy Turkey Day!
@Tuned Be sure to let me know when the strike ends!
@Tlander nice girls you got over there, am definitely loving the looks of that Freakshow bro.
Where did you get your Freakshow from? Am very interested in this one mate…
Thanks for sharing this with us Big love
Yobro! My good buddy @Wizdom sent me a few to try out over here. I’m just loving the look of them so far. Really have no idea what to expect in the way of buds, but looking forward to them. Years ago I emailed back and forth with somebody up in Canada that had been growing them for many years. But it was at the exact opposite time of year from harvest and by the time it rolled around we were out of contact. Been wanting to grow them ever since!
