Right on TL. Its a Deathstar/Chem/Skunk thing. What are you thinking of putting on it?
The fact that you liked those Mac1 x AVC enough to run them and the f2s right away has got me itching to look through them but I must resist. I do have a spackle of Wizdoms Meat Breath S1s that I just put in to cook last night though. They’re part of this descendents of Studley Spewright through Meat & Sherb Breath hunt I’m doing. Should keep me occupied for 9-11 wks.
Yo guys! @Budderton I was thinking to just make F1’s as I have a male stashed up the driveway. @MissinBissin Thanks buddy! No, haven’t grown any AG (yet!).
Well, we got more rain today, even knocked out the electricity for a couple hours! The Biggest Old Silver Thai declared itself as a male today. I had to climb up on a stool to check the top as it was hitting the plastic…sure enough, a boy.
And the wide views of the upper greenhouse… I think with the OST outta there tomorrow and if we can move the next biggest Peshawar Joe out to the palm grove, I might be able to squeeze in 3 more 15 gallons (for a little while!).
Things are lookin good in the upper greenhouse these days. Pulled the male Old Silver Thai plant and moved the Peshawar Joe down to the palm Grove opening things uP a bit (momentarily anyway).
Did a quick count and it looks like we’ve got 15 of the fresh faux Mac1 x Ashava Valley Cheese batch and another 15 of the f2’s,plus a few I probably didn’t find! Having a hard time deciding what to do with these? The earlier batch that stayed in 3 gallon square pots turned out some beautiful 1.5’ - 2’ colas…then I put one in a 15 gallon bag and it did the same thing but 4X in size! I haven’t got a spare 450 gallons of mix to spare and there’s loads of ‘other’ stuff too!
The Weather is making for quite the dramatic shows lately…we are finally starting to catch the edges of some of the passing squall lines. Power’s been knocked out half a dozen times this week already!
Tomorrow’s a Buddhist Holiday so the crew’s got the day off. We stockpiled a bunch of mix at various points around the land so I can continue going crazy if the weather cooperates. Almost have all that broken tree out of the way. 2 more truckloads of ‘trunk’ hauled out today! We’re back above 85% humidity again and drying plants in the tent, even w/the dehum & AC is tough!
Well, I’ve got 15 minutes more of daylight, just enough to make a quick round! Have a great one everybody and thanks again to all the bean donors!OGTW!!!
Your ears must have been ringing my friend. I was just thinking about you yesterday…and feeling a bit guilty about not having more time to interact with your wonderful posts. Looking good as always! Peshawar ( photo one) really shot up. You inspired me to pop a few myself
@Upstate 555! Yobro, no problem, I know how busy you are right now! There’s a shitload of 'em in the palm grove and a few still in the E&F tables too. Think I’m gonna be glad I put on those cages already. A few others are too wide to even do it now.
Tossin’ uP some more shots from today. Didn’t get a whole lot done other than checking that everybody was okay and a few more transplants.
Jarred Up some Powie Wowie, Powie Poison and some DJ Short 90’s BB today. Some of the more recent buds are starting to dry nicely. Seems I’m always rushing and they all get jarred up or Grove Bagged before I realize I should have taken some pictures!
Very cool! Glad they finally arrived! Hey, the (DPxP) x (DPxA) is actually what has been re-named; Durban Venom and are the same ones as shown just above your post. I think my 3D printer guy gave me a ziploc of ‘not-quites’ with the last load of pucks for that exact reason…I must have used them! Sorry about that but glad the tape held! Good luck with them! My Dr was ‘sick’ this week and due to concerns about being contagious, I didn’t go to my appointment this week so haven’t checked the PO yet.
Stuck a few more cages on the Peshawar Joe’s today and transplanted a few more Soul Mates & a Sherbanger into 15 gallon bags. Managed to stuff a few big glass jars full of well-dried buds from the tent, as I know we’re gonna need more room in there soon! I think my ‘favorite’ were the Powie Wowie from @BobbyBudz ! Just gorgeous buds Bobby, Thanks again! And the Soul Mates & Baja Blasts are looking beautiful too!
Mac1 x AVC new batch from my buddy @Wizdom … 2-3 runts, but the rest are powering out! Probably gonna pinch out the tops on these in the next day or two. As somebody here on OG said, Big Colas make for great pictures but they also tend to lead to problems. I’d rather have a bunch more smaller colas than one big one I have to worry about getting budrot problems. I’m thinking probably 10 of 'em will go into the 3 gallon square pots and 5 into big bags…but not for a while. They are in an experimental tray with a stepped, inverse pyramid pot form with air-pot like root pruning design. I want to let them fully root the entire media so they don’t fall apart when lifting them to transplant. These are the very same trays I used when I started off posting in this whole thread almost 2 years ago! My how time flies!
Some views of the upper greenhouse… This is gonna be a moving target! There’s everything from 1-2 days from harvest through others that just got transplanted from 3 gallon pot (and a few still in 3 gallon pots!). I’ve tried to put all the thick budded plants down where they get hit by the fan the heaviest and will have to keep rotating them as we harvest. While we’ve had times with greater numbers of plants in here, I don’t think we’ve had a run where there were this many in flower without any major problems! Hoping our luck holds out!
555! (That’s Thai for “Ha, Ha, Ha”!) Thanks for the compliments bro, but I think there are quite a few others here on OG that deserve that title before me! I just know that my time is ‘limited’, so I’m going for it over here. My life would be so much easier if I just grew one or two strains at a time instead of the craziness I get into…but with so many great OG friends sharing their beans I like this ‘little bit of everything’ mode! I suppose if I was quite a bit younger, this would make a great start for leaning what works over here and then I could just grow what works and skip all the experimenting…but it’d probably be a bit boring!
Well, I decided that it’s time to start re-populating the Lemon Grove again…these girls went from the E&F table to the old Sea of Green greenhouse last week, but I didn’t feel like they are getting enough sunlight (or air movement) in there. Figure we’ll give 'em a shot at the outside and see how they like it. Hopefully the white pots will help a bit.
But that’s not what you’re here for! Decided to transplant a few of the newest faux Mac1 x AVC@Wizdom into airpots from those inverse-pyramid pots. Thought I’d do every other one to give the remaining ones some space…but once I got going… Ended up transplanting them all!
Okay on to the plants… These Durban Venom@Jimdoors just keep chugging along! No idea when they are gonna be “Done”??? Still cranking out loads of new white pistils every day.
Had a couple of these Moby Dick beans stashed away and thought this time of year they might make it… so far I’ve had to chop 3 buds due to budrot even right in front of the hurricane fan! Guess they’re just one to take off my list. Too bad!
@Budderton I hit one lower branch (about 1/4 of the plant!) of this “A New Hope x Cobra Lips” w/pollen from the male up the driveway. Probably won’t get many beans but seemed a shame to waste the pollen after hanging on to the male for so long!
Another Sunday in the books! Tomorrow’s “Immigration Day” at the other end of the island, so it’s also “Supply-run Day”! Hope I get back before dark! Then Tuesday is Doctor Day…See ya in a few days hopefully!
Awesomeness TL!!
Those pink pistils on the OTUG plant are gorgeous! Hope it smokes good for you! Congrats on the pollination, good to see you making seed!
Not a fan of Greenhouse seeds method of operation but I watched the part in that Greenhouse video series where they visit KD at his spot and it was pretty cool to put a face to the name, see some of his set up and hear his interview. I’m interested in what genetics they are working with and their methods, if you have any insights. The SF x JC seems like it’s adapted to grow very well overthere. They look and sound like a combo of hype and traditional heirlooms. Sure makes a healthy looking cola!
