Wow!! :star_struck: That’s quite a haul!! Wait a minute, what happened to #18? I am so glad they made it man. The words “customs” and “tape” wigged me RTF out. I can’t make out all the names, what all do you have there? :vulcan_salute:

Nearly all of this stuff is from Maharashtra state and along the western ghats mountain range in Kerala… Some of it is only grown by one tribe, or by one family, sometimes for hundreds of years. Sometimes the names are the town of collection, and sometimes it is what the cultivar is known as locally. We will have to get Indian seeds on here to tell us more about them…
There is one from the town of Gokarna that has a bunch of hand-drawn stars on the vial, and it was marked “special”. Definitely has my attention LOL. There is a variety called Trimbak , from Trimbakshwar, which lies at the headwaters of Southern India’s largest river. This one has been grown by a family he is close to for many many years. Generations. Excellent branching on this one. Very good smoke .
Another one is called Matori, and has been grown in Southern India for only five years, but it’s from the Northwestern portion. Looks Pakistani to me. There is a vial of a semi wild Kashmir variety which I am very excited about. Collected near Srinagar, slightly South and West I believe. There is so much variety here, I don’t even know where to begin. Best way to find out what’s in these seeds is to grow some of them😁

That’s weird. On my screen they’re labeled number 1 through 17, and I see they are different when I post it. When I go to edit everything it is fine.

I know why. If you look, the four that are out of whack have a space after the dot, none of the rest of them do. Take that space out, and they’ll be fine.

What’s going to happen with your order? Did this just happen? Jordan of the islands is from Canada I’m guessing? Man, that really sucks. Is this guy from near Vancouver Island?

@Upstate, how long have you been studying the landraces? I’m always blown away by your detailed knowledge of so many places. I seem to learn something new every time you post, ha. Good stuff.

Are the Indian varieties sativa usually? Mix?

Nice stash to comb through. I have to look for the Indian thread. peace

How’s things going brah?

Just sneak in and out of here on occasion.
Hope things are well with you.

Nothing, it’s gone. We did a big group buy, and JOTI shipped to a guy in Canada, who then shipped to everyone else.

Here’s the funny thing. The way he was planning to ship them, I was afraid they’d never make it here in one piece, so I suggested an alternative shipping method, including a little spiel about how innocuous the packaging was, and how Customs would never suspect there was anything illicit in there. I was convincing I guess because that’s what we went with.

To date mine is the only one to get nabbed, which is actually awesome. If anyone’s had to go, I’d rather it was mine since it was my idea.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to accept the Nobel Prize In Irony. :grinning:

This last part gave me a good chuckle.

Sucks the order didn’t make it, you took it like a champ though. If I lose a package nowadays it’s not that bad, kinda like a punch to the gut or kick to the nuts. Not like a full grown man kick, but still😆

That’s just a real suck, sorry to hear that. I have a package from attitude that’s been in Chicago customs since mid-March. I keep hoping that someone will find this at the bottom of whatever container its in and move it along. I even contacted the USPS for lost mail, and they said it’s not even in the USPS hands yet, as it’s still in customs limbo.

Heh, you and me both apparently. Mines been stuck
in chicago since March 24th. It’ll get through eventually… whether or not it will still have seeds is a different story

I got lucky that they split my order up into two shipments, one made it, one’s in the twilight zone.
