You’re right man, it wasn’t you. I stumbled across it in another thread.
I did show you a picture I took of a whitefly.

Not having grown any before, are Indian strains distinguishable by sight in comparison to let’s say Thai/Viet cultivars? I did not realize how woefully ignorant I was of Indian varieties until I chewed on this thread.
@OldSSSCGuy…From what I have seen they are. Very distinguishable
Very long branches on them. Shorter in height than many tropical sativas too. You can notice the years of breeding that went into them. Somewhat tamed. For outdoors anyway. Less hermaphrodites too so far as I know. Good chance the Dutch or Portuguese brought Indian strains to Thailand years and years ago. Personally I think they are separate gene pools, but have intermingled through the years
i can tell any indian apart from a good old SE Asian Line i believe. but hard to put the difference in words. And the effect is also different. se asian is tripweed.
I’m looking forward to September when I’ll have my 6 months in and be able to be join the FBSC!!!
Hope it’s not too late by then…or is it invite only?
Well, i don’t have an idea on Viet/Thai genes but for sure Genes travelled back and forth from Burma in 1800 and 1900s, and plants in Manipur are known to be very similar to plants in burma.
@romanoweed what all indian have you grown, would love to know more about SE asian cannabis.
PS Indian Weed is also Tripweed
Feel like we need to go back to the original terms…
Indica = from India, se asian types.
So we should use afghanica for all the current “indica” plants.
More pictures, less appeal to authority and random unverified sources pls and thanks
i havent grown Indian, but i can tell it apart from look.
“trip” weed is a wide therm. you know what i mean.
If you ever read about old SE Asian Smokereports you can tell its another effect,im pretty pretty shure. I never found an Indian smokereport that comes close. Alltho i one day stopped reading Indian Weed effects, but initially i did. But never heard anyone screaming loud how trippy it is.
sierranaturalscience.com Check out the premixed concentration pouches. Also, plant either of the following along with your plants: Marigold, Coriander, Mints, Rosemary repels aphids, spidermites, and beetles. Chamomile or Mustard stops Powdery Mildew in it’s track. SS/BW…mister
yeah, thats how you do it. Could the Effect be altered if i rub Resin on forehead? Probably the effect changes, a tiny bit.
So far, my efforts at Blood Klot [BK[ germination is not going well.
Currently I have had 30 BK in rapid rooters for 10 days - I see no sprouts yet, but
going to give them them every chance to grow.
[ Also, Thanks to @ClassicGenetix for sharing a BK pack as part of the effort. ]
I have never had this low level of germination before.
IMO, anyone with BK seeds should try to germinate them to confirm viability.
I am dropping a pack of the Blackberry Spacewreck to ensure I get something growing for the freakers.
rapid rooters contain an artificial plant hormone treatment and salt based fertilizers which could cause major problems with landrace stock not adapted to hydro methods or salt based ferts.
Try direct sow in small cups of soil with worm castings, this may give you better results.
More than likely that’s because very few Indian varieties have been grown by westerners. Literally it’s only been Kerala, Parvati Valley, Kashmir and Odisha… several out of nearly 50. It looks like some of the Thai genetics at least were brought to Thailand by the Portuguese about 500 years ago. This information comes from the owner of Zomia seed Collective. Also the ancient empire of Dvarevadi , which covered much of present Thailand and some of Burma Laos and Cambodia was very closely allied with India. India greatly influenced this region during this Empires existence. Architecture, medicine, technology and I would assume everybody’s favorite plant all made their way to Thailand during this time. It sounds like a lot of it came from the east coast of India and the southern coast as well. Hopefully we will find out soon enough if there is any trip weed in India. I would defer to my friend @ShivamGrover on this one and say that there is.
I love that type of information mr. B. Thank you… screenshot taken. When I was younger I used to grow herbs in with my cannabis. Time to start doing that again
My plants always do best when they have companion plants and other medicinal herbs growing with them, in pots or in the ground.
I like lemon balm, garlic, and marigolds as pest deterrents, and wildflowers to attract beneficial insects. I also grow some herbs and ornamentals as ‘trap plants’ that draw pests away from the cannabis garden, but I don’t have any set up yet this year.
I will get some photos of my outdoor China Canghsan pots so you all can see how mine are set up.
there is still nobody that made me beleve indian is hallucinogenic of highest degree. or has anyone seriously hallucinated on indian? if not, there might be a difference. Like said “tripping” is a widly used Therm.
as it sounds you suspect indian came to SE asia 500 years ago. If so, there were subsequent 500 years of acclimatisation. i imagine even 100 Gens only change weed alot.
Further, if it are Logbook-entries that make you have this Theory, then imho a loogbookenty doesent mean that a Strain is subsequently kept alive and spread in the Whole Region . Its just a Logbookentry. If there was already a Strain present in Thailand, that could be reason why no new Strain is really grown. If there was already a strong Strain present… Or a better adapted Strain.
Whatever you might think it is… .
Thai and indian look distinctively different, im pretty shure i could tell them apart, so i tend to think they are different . Also smokereports differ, from what i read from India, doesent remind me thaat much.
I’ve germinated any seeds in straight worm castings for many years now. It works better than any of the methods I’ve tried, and believe me when I say I’ve tried a shitload!
spread 1/4" of worm castings in a tray, wet it, spread out the seeds on top of and place humidity dome over it with a towel to lessen the light. leave em be for a few days and you got seedlings!
edit, I have germinated literally thousands of seed in this manner over the years. With a very high success rate.
Do you use a larger pot size when adding in companion plants?
